It’s Christmas Day, 2005. I am at my parents’ house in Colorado, sitting in front of my mom’s new computer. It’s been a busy week but the shopping somehow got done and the gifts have all been opened. Before I get too far along, however, let me back up. This entry should really begin with my arrival in Denver on Monday, December 19... On Monday morning I left LAX on a Frontier flight to Denver, Colorado. My destination was Littleton, a suburb on the south side of Denver where I lived during my high school years. Although my parents moved into another house after I graduated from high school, they never left the area. I have other relatives and friends in the Denver area as well, including my sister & her family who live only 10 ... read more

(This post is almost 3 months overdue... Although the diary date is 23 Dec 05, I'm posting this on 14 Mar o6... After my US trip, I returned to Singapore, where my new university term started. Back in Singapore, I was so busy with work that I barely had time to post my travel-blogs. Now, I post this blog first. Hopefully I will post my other blogs soon, if I have the time... I apologize for the delay...) After spending more than 9 hours on the Greyhound bus from Salt Lake City, I finally reached Denver at around 6am. The sky was still dark and the weather outside was cold and windy, so I stayed in the Greyhound depot to upload photos into my laptop and recharge the battery of my mobile phone. At around 8am, ... read more

8 years ago, Mummy Khoo promised me turkey for Christmas, and 8 years later....I'm eating it. Woohoo! Needless to say that turkey has featured in some form or other in most meals since. And there was also......stuffing......STUFFING, lots of stuffing. But it wasn't actually stuffed because the turkey was butterflied. They also had a 'Korean' bbq christmas as well. So much fooood....... Anyway....the 24 hour train ride was actually pretty good. You get to experience a different side to America....the vast expanse of desert and the little towns in between. We even went through Las Vegas......but New Mexico, not Nevada. We had a stop at Alberqurque .....which reminded me of Bugs Bunny. Why was he always on his way to Alberqurque? We took the train from Union Station in Los Angeles which was a fantastic art ... read more

Left Missouri, drove across the plains of Kansas and eastern Colorado, and arrived in Denver on 08/25. Weather’s been beautiful - between 80’s and 90’s during the day and down to 60’s at night. Enjoyed visiting with RV friends Jim and Chris for a few days, now staying in Golden. Explored Boulder one day (what a gorgeous college town), drove up to Estes Park where we spied the Stanley Hotel (remember The Shining?), and drove back on the Peak to Peak road (quite scenic). Didn’t have time to explore Rocky Mountain National Park - must do that another time. Golden is a scenic little town as well as home to Coors Brewery - enjoyed that tour, especially the hospitality room. We were awed by a visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre - scene of many major concert ... read more

05h35 - Pequeno almoço à pressa no Hotel. 09h42 - Chegada a ... read more
