Phoenix, Arizona.

Hi All: I've discovered that you may not know an easy way to get all the blogs listed with the photos included. You can go to www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Jody/ to get it easily without having to flig through blog-by-blog from my latest entry. Sorry if that wasn't intuitive. And thanks for sharing my journey (even as it continues at home) with me! xxoo.... read more

Hi Everyone. I've been home 10 days now and (as promised) I've finally up-loaded some pictures to go with each of my blog entries. Looking at the pics, I'm left feeling like they just don't do the trip justice, but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless. In particular, I couldn't find any shots that really did the street scenes, traffic and driving justice. I'm planning to have an evening where I show many more photos, discuss the trip at length and answer questions. Many people have said that they would enjoy this. Let me know if you are interested...and if you have any ideas of a good place to do it that will hold 50 people or so. Mike took some video of the driving, so hopefully I can share that with you then. Just some ... read more

hi, i like to travel with my uncle josh alot and he says i should keep a journal of all the fun we have so my mom can find out what were up to. he's not really my uncle, but actually a really good friend of my moms that helps her out a lot since my dad died a few years ago. but he's super cool and hangs out with me alot which is cool since i don't have alot of friends, i'm what they call, slightly mentally challenged, uncle josh says it's like forest gump which i thought was a funny movie, especially bubba. he's also helping me with this journal since i'm not always the best speller and he knows how to make the links work. :) anyway one place we went to recently ... read more

We have new belts. It ended up costing less than we had expected ($228)...so thats good, right? Of course it is. I'm just happy we dicovered it when we did. That whole day was interesting. First, the belts. That took us till 3pm. When we left, we drove about 20 miles when Adam noticed that we were running a little hotter than we were before. Awesome. Adam calls Doug down at Premier Auto Care in Pell City. He suggest that we return to the shop. So we head 20 mins back to Pell City. I really can't say that Pell City was a place on my list of places I'd like to spend a lot of time, but we did anyway. We returned to Pell City at 4pm. Adam started talking shop (again) with the guys ... read more

A New Year - January 2006 David and Janice take to the road again, this time across the Atlantic to North America in search of culture, knowledge and the thrill of the unexpected. After touring across Europe for eighteen months in a 23ft motorhome, they have found it hard to settle down to a normal life and normal routine in a normal house. But, it’s not for long. Plans for the second phase of their tour to ‘places to know better’, are fast taking shape and they‘re off again, motorhoming on yet another Continent. With hopes of an awe inspiring 18 month stay in North America, (though initially tied to a six month US Visa restriction) the clockwise itinerary will take them northwards following the Pacific coast from Phoenix, Arizona, to Vancouver, Canada, journeying right across ... read more

Hi Everyone: I can't believe that I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon! Oh my god...it is actually here. I'm finishing up client projects today and trying to fit in packing somewhere...if you hear about an American arrested for running around naked at the Taj Mahal on New Year's Day...that will be me because I didn't have time to get my suitcase packed! ;) A couple of you have asked about who I am going to India with, so my final entry before I leave the country will be to give you a sense of that--that way you'll know who I'm talking about when I mention them in blog entries while I'm away. As most of you know, I'm going on a Rotary Foundation Group Study Exchange. For 20 years now, Rotary has been sending teams of 5 people ... read more

The Greyhound bus left Albuquerque at 5:30pm on Christmas and reached Phoenix around 3am on Boxing Day. Initially, I wanted to take a bus to Tucson and explore Tucson in the morning. Then I would return to Phoenix in the afternoon and explored Phoenix in the afternoon. However, because Boxing Day was a public holiday, most of the schedules between Tucson and Phoenix were cancelled. The next available bus from Phoenix to Tucson would depart in the afternoon, and if I went to Tucson, I might not be able to make it back to Phoenix in time to catch the bus from Phoenix to San Diego. In the end, I decided to stay in Phoenix and forget about Tucson... (Also, I was not feeling very well. The fever seemed to subside, but I was having a ... read more
