We spent a good while in Phoenix, taking full advantage of the couchsurfing network. And I gotta say, the Phoenix couch-surfers are the cream of the crop. They have a tight knit community of hosts who party with each other, and know how to host a guest. We got free maps, meals, and at least one night of debauchery. If I'm not mistaken, every single person we hit up got back to us (though not all could host us). We even had people we didn't write to writting to us just to wish us well! First We stayed with Elaina, and we went to Matsuri with her (a yearly japanese cultural festival). That was a lot of fun, there was Taiko drumming, martial arts demonstrations, Manga (japanese comics), and a lot of really good food. After ... read more

SEUFER6: DESTINATION: SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA The next 6 days basically consisted of getting up and exercising, enjoying the continental breakfast, school work, hot tubbing, lots of swimming, an occassional hike and going out to dinner. We enjoyed the easy life for the last 6 days. Some highlights are listed below. On Tuesday, February 13, after our usual morning routine of working out, eating breakfast at the clubhouse, we all got ready, loaded up in the minivan and headed to Casa Grande, Arizona, back to the first RV park (Casita Verde) we stayed at while we had the motor home. We were there to look at a park model that is for sale for Grandma and Grandpa Bufmack. After talking at length with the owners, we decided this would be a great investment for grandma and grandpa, signed ... read more

Seufer 6: Destination: Scottsdale, Arizona: February 9-18, 2007 Friday, February, 9, 2007 After a restful nights sleep, Team Seufer camp motor home was up and at 'em early, getting the motor home ready to move toward Phoenix. This was the first morning in a long time that we were up before 7:00am let alone 8:00. Ty wanted to be on the road early and into Scottsdale by 10:30ish. Today we will return the motor home to Mesa. We managed to stop at Tanner's dream breakfast place, McDonalds. Our final decent into Scottsdale went relatively smooth. We pulled the big rig into the beautiful Rocks Club, which is where we will be staying for the remainder of this AZ trip. Since our villa was not ready, we unloaded all of our luggage and sovenires from the motor ... read more

Seufer6: Destination: Grand Canyon Wednesday, February 7, 2007 We headed north to the Grand Canyon from Sedona, we drove on highway 89 through Oak Creek Canyon, which is one of the most scenic and beautiful drives in America. It was quite steep with lots of switch backs, this is a road not recommended for an RV over 50 ft. but Ty, the master motorhome driver, made it seem like we were on a smooth sailing ship. We went on into Kachina Village and through the outskirts of Flagstaff. Merged onto road 180 which took us through the San Francisco Peaks, where there is actually skiing. Funny to think of skiing in Arizona, but after building a snowman yesterday, it is true. From highway 180 we ran into road 64 which took us up to a little ... read more

Destination: Phoenix, Arizona, February 2007 What a great trip we had touring California. After a few days home in Franktown, we were off again only this time to the beautiful state of Arizona. 1st stop, to pick up our 40 foot motorhome in Mesa Arizona. This motor home will be our transportation and home for the next 9 days and 8 nights. Our flight to Phoenix went incredibly smooth. Daddy did get caught at the airport (claiming Lilly was under 2)and had to buy Lilly her first airline ticket, Daddy was not happy about that. After travelling to California with a little too much luggage, mommy decided to pack a little differently to lighten our load a bit. When we arrived in Pheonix a long WHITE limo was there to pick us up and this time ... read more

Trivia question for my friends: What is my favorite structure or building in the state of New Jersey? Think about that for a few minutes. Don't cheat. Yeah, like you're going to listen to me. As I chill out in the Valley of the Sun on the eve prior to my departure home to the Garden State, I can reflect back on my long weekend trip here and say this was another worthwhile trip. The weather and lack of itinerary planning basically kept me within the valley, yet with no regrets. Refreshingly enough, my flight departed Newark on time and arrived in Phoenix early. I was in my rental car within 15 minutes and drove through downtown Phoenix before proceeding to my hotel - Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in North Phoenix. My overall stay was ... read more

Unfortunately, I didn't take advantage of my first New Years Eve as a 21 year old, because I decided to work... but I did make some money, not as much as I had hoped to, but it was an ok new years considering my other options.... hanging out at Mals (beat) or going to Mill again but with mainly under 21 year olds or go with Whit to Blazes but she said that it was very low key and I had to work today also, so working all yesterday (total of 16 hours= 10am to 2am) wasn't that bad. I worked out at the pool at the Princess during the day and I did pretty well. It was busy because Oklahoma University football team and fan club are staying for the Fiesta Bowl, which they just ... read more

To all our dear family and friends, a note to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! As we spend our first Christmas here in the States, we will be thinking of you all in England, Argentina, New Zealand, Australia or wherever you are in the world. A toda la familia en Argentina les deseamos una muy Feliz Navidad y que en el 2007 se les cumplan todos sus deseos. We had the opportunity to get this portrait done (for free!) so why not! We also bought a new tree, a little large for the room we have currently, but a tree is not just for (one) Christmas :) and hopefully next year we will be somewhere a little larger! We also bought a fireplace dvd to replicate that winter Chrismas feeling ... read more

Nancy, Doug and Copper 2006 NORTH AMERICA TOUR November 15/06 Well we made it down the mountain!! Fortunately the long way down was on the other side of the road so didn’t seem so bad! No traffic so just took our time. Goodbye mountain roads for awhile. The drive to Bakersfield was good although the freeways in California are in terrible condition. Lots to see in this area of Kern County, mile after mile as far as the eye can see of grapes , every kind of fruit, nuts, cotton seed, oil, the free worlds largest producer of Borax, agriculture of all kinds and the list goes on and on - very interesting to see it all. November 16/06 We head southeast to-day and enter into the Mojave Desert, first experience in a desert and it’s ... read more
