Today we're back in Cozumel. I first went downtown with Bronwyn and Jackie, two girls from the spa, to see and support them in getting tattoos. It was pretty cool to see them get them done. I really adore those two girls. They're sweethearts and so much fun. After the tattoo parlous, we went back to our beloved Park Royale. There was a big group of people today - lots of spa staff, some shoppies, dancers, musicians. It was more of what is becoming our Park Royale standard - drinking, sunning, swimming, eating good food, laughing, playing. It was both wild and easy, relaxing and crazy. Cozumel days have begun to feel the way a Saturday feels back home in a regular work routine/life. We look forward to it all week and when the day rolls ... read more

I often say, “ The Eagle has landed”, whenever I land from a flight - well now I mean it. That’s right poppets, Brooks went Sky Diving. I decided that I wanted to do something that was so extreme and so memorable that I couldn’t resist. And then the thought came to me. SKY DIVING. Why not!! I had been talking about wanting to go sky diving for some time with my friends on the ship but never actually thought I could get the nerve to go. When I was at Star Centre, Jeanette and Marlize went, and when I heard about it I knew I had to go. A lot of people were skeptical, scared and thought it was an over the top experience to have. And one would think with what I have ... read more

Today in Cozumel, a group of us went back to Park Royale, the resort we went to last week. A complete mix of people from all different departments on the ship. $40 for all you can eat and drink creates quite the party. All day daiquiris and being in Mexico, inevitably there is tequila. It was rather crazy but so so so much fun. Not much to say. Just fun pictures to share. ... read more

There’s no place like home. All great things must come to and end, isn’t that the saying??? Well I want to say that that isn’t true. My contract with Carnival is over in a few days and I want to take this time to thank a few key people and reflect a little. I have seen and done some amazing things over the last six months. Be it, walking through the French influenced downtown of Martinique, sneaking into exotic resorts, hitting up the Boat Yard with fellow crew in Barbados, going on tours with the Tour Guide or be it lounging on a beach with great friends. I can look back on this adventure and know that it has shaped me in someway. As most of you know, I am generally a pessimistic person. I have ... read more

When Marlize and I got back to Cozumel after our sky diving adventure, all I wanted to do was be out in the sunshine on a beach. I knew a group of people were going to Park Royal, a resort just outside of Cozumel. So I hopped in a taxi and went there. The resort is so nice - right on the beach, with a beautiful pool, pool side bars, a restaurant, snack stands. For $40 you have full use of the facilities and unlimited food and drinks, an amazing price for a full day! I only had a few hours there, so I had to quickly eat and drink my money’s worth. But I did. The food was so good (nice change from the mess). There is nothing like drinking strawberry daiquiris in the sunshine ... read more

First time taking a cruise to the Carribean with stops in Mexico (Progreso, Yucatan ; Cozumel) and Belize (Belize city). Progresso is an emerging gateway for cruise ship passengers where guests can take excursions to Maya ruin or Merida (25 miles away). Strategically located along the Gulf Coast of Mexico, Progreso is the state capital of the Yucatan, founded in 1871 by Juan Miguel Castro and heavily influenced by the Mayan culture. Took a walk at the market and then joined others for a tour to a Maya ruin and a visit to Merida. I didn't book the tour on the ship, but signed up immediately once I found a local tour operator. Cozumel is a tiny tropical isle 12 miles off Mexico's coast, with sandy beaches, sacred Maya ruins and coral reef just off shore ... read more

A big hello to you all!!!! By now I'm sure you have all realised just how hopeless I am with emailing, so this page is to keep you up to date with where I am and what I'm doing!!! Basically a page all about ME... So, as most of you know, last October I up'd and left Australia (again) to explore yet another part of this beautiful world. I'm currently based on a floating Resort in the Caribbean, otherwise known as a Cruise Ship. Most of you are probably thinking, thats the life, and trust me most days it absolutely is. Before I left I had images of lying on an exotic beach with a Pina Colada in my hand (yes, I did expect that was what I would be doing day in and day out) ... read more

http://www.travelblog.org/gmaps/map_31o.html This was the last stop of the 7 day western carribean cruize. Cozemul if also known for its great diving as grand cayman was. This time i chose not to play in the water but i got some advice from a good friend to rent some type of vehicle and criuze the whole island. there's a loop trail that cirlces around the coast which is a blast! My father and i rented this beat up scooters and went on a trek. The scooters you can rent right when you get off the boat or you can get a jeep. I believe the scooters were about $35 each for 8 hours or so. We head out on them and our first stop was paradise beach. It was supposed to have good diving but the sea life ... read more

Geo: 20.3435, -86.5985Had a rough night - very little sleep. Plus, we had to get up early to catch our tours. We ended up sitting around in a lounge waiting to board a ferry for the mainland (Cozumel is an island, but our tours were on the mainland). The seas were rough - luckily it was a bigger boat than the little tenders we took in Belize and Grand Cayman. It actually felt a little bit dangerous - the boat was rocking back and forth like crazy. I almost died in the bathroom - try taking a whiz while the boat is violently listing back and forth! The floor was slippery (covered in you-know-what) ... after, I felt a great sense of accomplishment in successfully doing my business without spilling all of it (I think at ... read more
