Any suggestions for finding a house to rent in Mexico and/or tips/tricks for saving a few bucks on a group vacation?
Hey there,
We're trying to get a group of friends together for a fun, affordable, vaca. Probably 8-12 of us. We were thinking of renting a house in Mexico (hopefully Cabo...maybe Playa Del Carmen) and could use any advice/suggestions you may have on finding a house and any tips/tricks for saving a few bucks.
Thanks in advance!

Reply to this There are a lot of rental companies, most rentals are of vey high quality.
Reply to this I don't know if you've ever looked into or heard of Huatulco as an option...but it is really like no other region in Mexico. It has a higher eco-tourism rating than Costa Rica and the weather is guaranteed hot and sunny from November through April. In fact, some hotels in this area even offer money back guarantees for rain it's so rare during the dry season. The other wonderful fact is that it's one of the most affordable areas in Mexico for villa rentals!
It's the furthest south destination in Mexico as a travel destination and as such flights can at times be more pricey but it's really about keeping an eye out for deals. If you're traveling from the US - Continental operates flights into Huatulco (HUX) out of Houston...if you're traveling out of Canada,
usually has the best rates or you can check charters operated by .
In terms of property rentals...there are high-season options starting at $2400 for villas that can accommodate up to 15 people. That works out to be about $200/person/week...tough to beat!
For an amazing destination offering everything from great snorkeling tours to exhilarating river rafting trips... you will love it! For more info on the area you can check out reviews on Trip Advisor's forum as well as which is an amateur blog that has tons of info on the area.
Good luck tracking down a destination and property!
Reply to this Hey Suzanne,
We just bought a place in Cabo San Lucas and are making it available to renters. You are welcome to check it out at http://vrbo.com/263133.
It sleeps 4-6 guests, and I know we have some neighbors who would be willing to let you rent their place, too in order to accommodate everyone. We just bought it, so right now we are offering introductory rates lower than what you might expect to pay for similar rentals.
Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great trip!

Reply to this Check out my short articles and listings in Puerto Vallarta. I came here and stayed; now I write about interesting real estate and things to do.
You can find a great place to stay. The town is full of housing for all types, from luxury to budget. For example, I flew in without reservations on a very tight budget with my friend. We stayed at the Hotel Bernal for about $22 a night. We went out looking for a condo or apartment and the first day found an incredible place overlooking the ocean and Old Town for $450. However, we came in the off season when it's much cheaper.

Reply to this Hey there 😊
Well I'd recommend Rosarito Beach, it's quite close to the United States, and right by the beach! There are a lot of good restaurants, surf shops, nightclubs and other places to visit for fun!
You should contact
Baja Open House , these guys are completely trust worthy and speak perfect english! I'm sure they can find the place you need, either in Rosarito or another place in Baja, and maybe even a property with extra amenities such as easy private beach access or a pool.
Have fun! 😊
