This morning, the bus dropped us off again in the city center of Florence for some more free time for exploration. The only thing I hadn't seen yet that was on my list was the Ponte Vecchio - a bridge spanning the river which is famous for its scenic views and its expensive jewelry shops. I walked over there with a couple of the ladies from the group who wanted to see it too. We took some pictures and did some window shopping (nothing I could afford, of course!). After this, we walked up the street to the Piazza della Repubblica and stopped for an early outdoor lunch. We sat and talked for a good while after lunch and just had a good time. Then, it was off to our meeting point for the bus. ... read more

Happy Birthday, Michelle! We got up and ate the rest of our strawberries. We’ve been eating granola cereal and yogurt, which is really delicious. We took a bus to the Vassa Museum. Cathy was in a foul mood today (she claimed it was because her hand hurt). She even said the sound of my flip-flops annoyed her. The Vassa was a ship that sunk in the harbor of Stockholm in the 1600’s on its maiden voyage. Its location in the harbor was lost for hundreds of years but then they found it and brought it to the surface in the 1960s. It is really amazing to see how well preserved it is considering how old it is and how it sat at the bottom of the harbor for 300 years. They found the remains of ... read more

Ah Venezia....my favourite place the last time I came to Italy and pretty close the second time also! I don't know what it is about this place, it's certainly not the millions of pigeons in St Marks Square, the American tourists or the exorbinant prices... I think it's that Venezia has real class!! People dress up here and are stylish. It's easy to get around on foot and quieter than other large cities as there is no traffic. It's also the scenerey - getting lost in the little backstreets and finding gorgeous squares and buildings. It's also been warm and sunny here which makes it easier to love! I parted ways with Robyn & Dan for 24 hours when we arrived. We'd been together for almost 2 weeks so we thought it was best they ... read more

So, it's the early hours of June 11th, which means that there are 4 days left 'til I leave for the U.S... which is pretty exhilarating but terrifying at the same time... I have a whole array of feelings about going right now... Of Course I'm majorly excited, but anxious at the sheer amount of things that need sorted before the bags can even get packed, let alone get on a plane (or several!)... I'm also thinking I'm going to miss Lily my wonderful cat quite a lot. Which sounds silly, but at least it's honest! Of course I may miss a few humans aswell ;) I fly out on Friday morning around 9am from Belfast City Airport (or George Best Airport as it's increasingly known... however confusing that is!) and transfer at Heathrow to a ... read more

Leider bin ... read more

Hallo, Everyone! I hope life is pleasant and sunny on your side of the pond! Germany is doing well; the weather was a scorcher this weekend! How was it in the States? It’s not like I could get a clear answer to that question, though, since you readers are located everywhere from California, Montana, and Colorado, to New York City, Chicago, and Boston. And there are also European readers in the bunch, so it’s not fair to you either. Before I get into the traveling business, don’t forget to vote! I’ve received many votes so far, but I’d love to hear more opinions from the rest of you! With roughly 100 friends and family reading this weekly, I could definitely conduct a semi-professional survey of North American perceptions of Europe and so on. So vote. ... read more

Amsterdam was what I had in mind and more... way more.... haha~ definitely the red light district was an eye opener. Never have I seen so many little rooms filled with hookers in my life, some of the girls were real hot~ There was lanes and lanes of these rooms scattered all over the red light district. I even witness a customer being naughty and getting into a fight with one of the pro. She was NASTY! Screaming and pushing him around, then suddenly her alarm went off. Along came running was her P.I.M.P and the customer ran off haha. Her P.I.M.P was dark tall and let me say very BIG! I also went to the sex show, yes like porn on a stage with a rotating bed. Was the funniest thing ever, got a ... read more
