Haggis, Bagpipes and some amazing gothic architecture are just a few of the things me and Timmy got to experience when we went up to visit Tim and Sam in Edinburgh last weekend. I'd heard a lot of good things about Edinburgh and am so glad I made the effort because it more then exceeded any expectations I had and has convinced me to move up there for a few months next year. I cant wait! Highly reccomend checking it out if you get the chance because it's definately one of my favorite Cities in the world so far. while we were there we went up for a look at the Edinburgh Castle that sits up on a hill right in the middle of the city and has parts of it almost 1000 years old!! it ... read more

Ok so we arrived in Edinburgh, SCotland.. It had to be the scariest flight ever!! well first off we had to wake up at 4am to catch a bus to our ryan air flight. Vicky and Roddy took us to Stirling today - home to the William Wallace Monument (Braveheart), it gives you the history of the man who struggle to give FREEDOM to Scotland. The monument is built like the tower of a castle, with a narrow and winding staircase about 260 steps. You get to see Williams sword and a view of where the battle of Stirling occured, when Scotland beat the English. It was very cold and windy at the top.... read more

Hi, all - it's been a while since I last did one of these as we've been fairly busy since we got back from our trip back to blighty. I'll have to keep this reasonably brief as Jo-Ann insists that I sepnd too long on the computer. In fact if she had her way, there would be no more blogs...ever. Might not be a bad thing, I'm sure some of you are thinking! Anyway, we had a great trip home despite spending approx 48 hours on planes with only a couple of hours break each way in what felt like a prison cell in LAX. It was fantastic to spend time catching up with family and friends and it certainly brought home to us just how much we miss everyone. What we don't miss however is ... read more
