At monday 18th of July the nightporter made an early simple breakfast . After that I went to Heuston station for the irishrailtour to the west of Ireland.First by train to Galway. Met in the train Jennifer, a korean american lady with her kind of boyfriend Bob. Jennifer works for a lobby firm and earned the trip to Ireland as bonus, She says her work is helping politicians and companies. Bob says her work is selling favors. Bob is chef and coooks probably for the same people as she is working for.. They still both had the problem of jetlag and Jennifer seeing the cowas laying down in the meadows, yes the cows in Ireland do a lot of laying down, she wished to become a cow so she could sleep all day. I told her ... read more

Again a tour by Irishrail tour. on july 19th Leaving 7 o clock from Heuston station for the west of Ireland again but now seeing the Ring of Kerry. Beautiful sights and surprise No Rain and even now and than some sun. Irish rail works with partime gentlemen of very high age. But it works, they are enthousiastic and stay on the train till you get off and go back to Dublin again. What happens after the train is not their problem. To recognize them they wear yellow coats The last guy in yellow coat I saw on the way back. Looked like 90 years old at least. The explaining took long time, the walking through the train even more but he still seemed to like it. Met in the coach Rebecca. Rebecca is German and works ... read more

Well we are now half way through the bus tour and have decided that it is time to commence the blog on England before we totally forget where we are, what we have done and who we are. Just to clarify any misunderstanding that may have arisen from the last blog, Marg was not the wife who became separated from the group; but that was not for the want of trying! Firstly our entry to the UK – We queued for 45 minutes to get through customs in a snaking queue that went for about half a km. (They really did want us, really truly.) For some unfathomable reason, UK Immigration think they need to teach all non EU residents what it means to enter the UK – queue until you are bored stupid, whilst the ... read more

Next stop, Glasgow. A neat train ride from Edinburgh had us arrive in Glasgow early in the morning with only a day to explore the city's delights. There's a lot of hype about Glasgow, I've heard people refer to it as the 'Melbourne' of Scotland. I can't say we have really felt these vibes. Don't get me wrong, it's very pretty and we did a fair bit of exploring in our stunted allocation of time here, but I don't get the glamour, the excitement. This morning we had a leisurely stroll around Alexandra Park (yes, with our backpacks strapped to our shoulders... slightly painful) and then checked out the Botanical Gardens. This, I do admit, was quite fascinating and I'd say we spent a few good hours roaming the halls and rooms checking out all the ... read more

Hadrian's Wall After a necessary stop in Ambleside, near Lake Windemere, for tea and scones we headed to 'The North' and into Scotland. Just before crossing the border we checked out Hadrian's Wall. Built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian (original name he came up with!) between AD122 and 128 there are still sections running across the countryside. The wall marked the border between 'Scotland' and the Roman Empire and usefully, also allowed the Empire to introduce passports and taxes for it's 'English' citizens. After 'the Blackpool experience', Hadrian's wall was a must see for Jo, so we proceeded happily to Glasgow. Glasgow Glasgow did a good job of being grey with constant grizzle but none of the locals seemed fazed by a bit of light rain, so we hit the streets to explore. Past the main ... read more

Quite a drab June day here at the moment with the wind picking up some. Better get used to it, however, as we will be in the windy city before long. It is there we'll begin our American adventure! Can't Wait!... read more

I leave for Ghana in roughly 12 hours time. I've spent months preparing and I hope it lives up to my expectations. I have a KLM flight from Glasgow via Amsterdam tomorrow. It's going to be my first time travelling alone and I am quite nervous about it. Hopefully I've got the times right and will get picked up from the airport at the right time. We'll just have to see. My next entry should be coming from Ho in the Volta region of Ghana. This is the beginning. (I'm not actually from Robroyston but it's the closest place in locations to Bishopbriggs)... read more

Några knän men absolut mest axlar.
