Min handledare har varit ... read more

This year, I'll be celebrating two New Years. Obviously the UK one was last night, and I opted for a quiet one with my family. I was invited to a ceilidh but at the time we had to book my skin was terrible and I wasn't sure that it would be any better so I declined. I'd also been to to ceilidh last year and wasn't too fussed about doing the same thing twice in a row. Actually, by the time last night came I was rather glad I wasn't going, partly because there's been a bit of drama with one of the other girls that was going, but mainly because I am already starting to feel homesick (even though I haven't left yet!) so was stocking up on feel good family vibes. My second New ... read more

I knew I'd be busy this holiday but am a firm believer that a change is as good as a rest, and I do in fact feel very refreshed despite working on the stalls, and doing various admin tasks from home. Being at home has allowed me to look at my situation from a different perspective, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I've love being here, with my family, but there's stuff I miss about China. I miss how driven I am there. True, there's not a lot else to do, but I love that I get up and just get on with my work, whether it's studying or school work, or going to the gym. I like not having a lot of time to think, and I like that when ... read more

I learned long ago that when a friend invites you to visit them in a place you've never visited, it's foolish to refuse. When my friend Samantha said she would be visiting Scotland for work while I was in Ireland and asked if I wanted to come over to see her, my first question was, "when should I book my flight?" I had never been to Scotland and after hearing from so many people how beautiful it was, Scotland was definitely at the top of my list of places to visit this year. So, after class one Thursday, I set out on the painless 45 minute flight from Dublin to Glasgow. Though it was quite late when I got in that night, it was so nice to see my friend Sam and her mom who had ... read more

Saavuin bussilla iltapaivalla Glasgowhun. Baareissa oli paljon vakea, varmaankin siksi etta maanantai on taalla jonkinlainen syyslomapaiva.... read more

Geo: 55.8656, -4.25722I've really enjoyed my adventures but it's nice to be back home. Dad and Val pick us up at the airport and we have all the family round for dinner to hear of our tales and see lots of pictures, special interest of course being Diane, John and Amber. It's been a real inspiration away off traveling and I hope to do much more in the future.... read more

Geo: 55.8656, -4.25722 So Dad dropped Raymie and I off at the airport and wished us well on our travels. I had bought the same bag as Raymie which thankfully had wheels on it, although I know I have far too much stuff with me! Anyway, we got our luggage checked the whole way to Bangkok so didn't have to worry about it when we arrived at Heathrow, the flight from Glasgow was smooth and we were soon looking at the biggest Jumbo plane that I had ever seen which we were getting ready to board. I was really excited:0 On the plane, the in flight entertainment screen's were on the back of every seat, you could choose from movies, music, radio etc. or watch the interactive map which showed you your location, height, temperature which ... read more

Geo: 55.8656, -4.25722Then we crossed the Erksine Bridge which was very tall into the outskirts of Glasgow. We are staying at the Marriott Hotel. So after getting my key from a very posh front desk and lobby, I took a very posh lift to the 3rd floor and entered a very posh room. I have a king size bed just to myself!!!! After the last couple of places of small uncomfortable twin size beds and then walls, this is heaven! My view wasn't bad, but there was a walkway that went out over the parking lot but was only partly finished. It had plants growing off of it so I know its been there for a while. I asked the lady in the gift shop about it. She said that no one really knows what happened. ... read more

Okay, so it's been over a week since my last post, and now I've left myself in a bit of pickle because I have to have my entire blog entry done by 2pm (50 minutes). A lot of us are traveling for the next week and then coming back on Thursday, July 1st to pick up our stuff, so they are taking it from us today to lock it up somewhere. That said, I'm going to move on to my next entry, covering the 5 days of my Scotland trip. We left on Wednesday afternoon to catch the 2:43pm train from Troyes to Paris. We arrived in Paris and took the metro to our stop where we were to catch the shuttle at 8:10pm. So, we walked around a little bit, ate some food, and came ... read more
