The great weather continued for another week. It is amazing! England in the spring sunshine can be a very colourful place. We were staying in Cleethorpes with Russ’ Mum and spent a lot of time outdoors which was a bonus. We are more used to cold drizzle and freezing winds whenever we go there!! Within the space of just five days we celebrated the birthdays of Russ, his older brother Rick (in Moscow to watch Man Utd!) and both of Russ’ grandmothers. It was nice to see everyone, and his Nan even had a party. Brewster Bear was on hand to entertain the great-grandchildren but, despite his help, we were exhausted by the end of the day! We also got to see Russ’ sister Rachael play with her band. Brother-in-law Paul was also there. The evening ... read more

I thought that the best place to kick off our world tour would be on the hallowed turf at Glanford Park - manager Nigel Adkins and defensive bedrock Cliff Byrne were kind enough to help with the piccies. Nigel told us about his favourite places in New Zealand and Cliff held the camera for the "group" shot. Steve No one should underestimate how excited Steve was today to meet Nigel and he is now considering cancelling the rest of the trip as he has already had the experience of a lifetime! Well what a name to give to a rideout but it will become apparent as you all read on. We decided to go for a rideout today but there were no plans for a destination when we made our arrangements, there were some suggestions but nothing confirmed, so this morning I got home from work around 5-am and straight to bed to be woken by my alarm at 10-am and climbing into my leathers and additional cold, wet weather gear, I headed off to meet the others at one of our regular meeting points, McDonalds at M1 Junction 30. Arriving at McDonalds, I saw the familiar group of motorbikes parked up but was surprised not to see Paul’s Pan European ST1100, (you couldn’t miss it really because it was an ex police bike) in the car ... read more

With the ‘s no rally coming up in just over a week I suggested a ride out the following Sunday (28th), just to blow the cobwebs off the bikes and to give new members the opportunity for a ride out with the club. Someone suggested the Sand racing at Mablethorpe as a destination and with me as the leader. Sunday arrived and I headed off to Mc Donald’s just off the M1 at junction 30, a regular meeting point for ride outs, having walked the dog beforehand. I was the second to arrive and I knew some of the regular riders wouldn’t be able to make the ride out but I was quite surprised to see 6-bikes turn up with a total of 9 riders in the party. We set off towards out destination around 10:15 ... read more

I had a lovely Christmas with my extended family!!! We pretty much relaxed and ate food!! Sounds like a great way of spending Chrissie to me! Always love popping there to catch up with everyone. I got to see all my family on video cam which was lovely - nice to still feel apart of their day! Although they were slight trash bags by the time I got to speak to them!!! Looks like everyone had a good time with Maude and Pete! We had Christmas lunch at Aly's which was amazing as usual, and then Boxing Day Stef and I drove to visit Steve's Mum and Barry for another amazing roast! Was also great to be able to watch some video of Milli and the rest of my family in Australia from their recent trip. ... read more

Well the are only two certainty's in life and thats taxes and kicking the bucket, the fact im writing this blog means i haven't met with the latter yet....lol. So when i finished work on the 23.11.07 i called the tax offices marvelous call center in bootle to get a P85 posted out so i can reclaim some of my tax as im not working the full tax year April to April. Not sure how much i will get back, but hoping for around at least £400 and that will come in really handy to boost my funds while i am away. But you know what the tax man is like, he likes taking and sometimes taking more than he should, but not so keen on giving you what he owes you. Well its now over ... read more

So another day and after tips of some travelblogger's and other people i know i decided to do some more unpacking and packing and well it was fairly similar to yesterdays results........lol, so several unpacks and repacks later and i think i am finally happy with what i am taking and what i am leaving behind. I have decided after cutting down t-shirts, underwear to 5, that i have now got down to 4 of some items and two of some and one of other items and some items have gone as i feel i will not need them and if i do i can buy them cheaply enough on the road. Well less than 25 days to go, which is 3 weeks and 4 days and i am here in the backwoods of lincolnshire and ... read more
