Our true Christmas spirit begun on Saturday night. We went to Hylands Park to a Ball. After wading through the car park we entered the marque. The marque was much better that the car park, and huge. We had a yummy dinner followed by Elvis (dug up from the dead especially!). We had a dance, then went to play on the dodgums. We bumped away and it was really good fun. Suzanne and Jackie went on the surf board. We danced some more, played roulette and ate chocolate from the fountain. It was a fantastic lavish night out. Sunday afternoon we all met again at the Civic for Cinderella (oh yes we did!). The star was the miniture ponies. It was a really good fun show... we liked the flowers, we liked the dafodills, we like ... read more

The annual dive club dinner dance was a good night our. There were less people from the club than on previous years but that didn't stop us having a fantastic time. We all dressed up and look splendid, we ate, drank and danced the night away.... read more

I signed myself up for an adult education course at Witham. I picked beginners art as I enjoyed art at school and wanted to get better. My first few attempts at drawings were a bit ropey, the teacher was good and we got to play with lots of different mediums. It's good fun to spend a couple of hours a week playing with pastels or paints and seeing what happens. I have started my sketch book and plan to carry on with some doodles of art. Whilst I am no master and my pictures will probably never be seen widely I am enjoying myself and that's all that counts!... read more

After a bit of though I decided to become a biker! First step was to book on my CBT. After a couple of days I was up and riding on the open roads. It was great fun! I found the work in the yard tricky but all the practice paid off and I headed to Silver End and roamed the roads. Brrmmmmmmm With my newly found talent, a wodge of cash and my license Wayne and I visited various dealers looking at bikes. We narrowed the search to a Jinlun 125-11, a brand new chinese import custom cruiser style bike. We finally landed at SJ Bikes in Rochester, who actually had a industrial unit, several bikes to see and a good reputation. We left a deposit and my license. I sent the insurance documents through and ... read more

Wayne and I went to see the new James Bond film. Overall it was good, however not as good as Pierce would have been... lots of chases and fights, no gadgets. Dame Judy was brilliant as ever! We had a good meal at Presso after the film and headed home for a well deserved rest.... read more

It's Friday night and it was my last day of work today, feels kinda weird but in a good, exciting way, knowing our big adventure is just round the corner! Anyway, Michael and I took it in turns to add paragraphs to the poem below - can you guess who wrote what?! (clue: M wrote the romantic lines!) Fx Oh won't it be great to stay out late, To continue the party how I just can't wait, To leave far behind this dim and dismal shore, To taste places we've never seen before Let's go west to a land that's free, and independent, like you and me. A land so big and vast, full of promise and contrast. If we can make it there, we can make it anywhere! So pack your bags and let's take ... read more
