I went to see Mamma Mia with a group of girls from the dive club. It is the only film I have seen where the audience gave a round of applause at the end. It was very amusing, lots of singing and dancing. The highlight for me was Pierce Brosnon and Colin Firth in there ABBA suits at the end dancing to Waterloo. BRILLIANT! ... read more

Sunday afternoon we headed to Southend and sat in the park in the sun eating a proper picnic and drinking pimms. We were at the Jules Holland concert. It was great. The Blues Brothers group were really good and got the party started. Jule and his band came on and we chilled out as the sun set. It was a lovely evening, dispite my lack of ability to Rock and Roll!... read more

Four of us went to see the movie, Sex and the City in the evening on Tuesday 3 June at Freeport, Braintree. Its bargin night so could afford to splash out on popcorn and a drink - but only just! Film was great, bringing back all the old characters, twisting and turning. Only trouble is it finished - will there be another? When's it out on DVD? ... read more

Jan, Nisa and Suzanne and I all met at Freeport to see the Sex and the City movie. Suzanne (geek) knew the series plot line inside out so gave me a refresh before the movie started. I wasn’t really expecting much, but 2 hours later was amazed how the time had flown. I laughed so much I almost peed and wanted to cry at the sad bits, it was a very emotional ‘rollercoaster’ film and I loved it! Very glad we went to see it, and enjoyed the girly bonding! ... read more

We took my mum out for her birthday. We had dinner at the yummy Italian Wayne and I went to for my birthday and then went to the theatre. We saw the 39 Steps at the Mercury. The theatre was packed out! I really enjoyed the play, it was very very funny, and lots of amusing action. I would love to see the film (not funny apparently). ... read more

Returning to England, the last thing we expected was a prolonged period of good weather. Not that we are complaining of course! We stayed with Trish’s parents in Frinton-on-Sea on the Essex coast where we hardly saw a cloud in the sky! It’s always nice to walk along the seafront when the sun is shining. There were some very brave people about, stripped down to the bare minimum and sunbathing on the beach or, even braver, swimming in the sea! Needless to say we didn’t join them! We also took a stroll along the promenade at Harwich. Once again the weather was perfect and people were braving the beach. The view over to Felixstowe was interesting with the giant cranes standing proud over the shipyards. We even got to see a “Thames barge” on the water. ... read more

20th March 2008 We landed at heathrow back to 7 degree weather it was 6.30am and after 13 hours we were very tired indeed. we were picked up by a taxi company and finally got home about 8.30am. My dad was there but my mum was at work, she didnt know we were coming home it was a surprise. Once in and after a nice hot bath I headed straight round to my friend Zoe (none of my friends new I was coming home) Zoe had just had her baby George a few days before, I was so excited about seeing them both. That evening, I drove and picked up my mum from work, I took my dads car so as normal she was picked up by him. It wasnt until I pulled up and she ... read more

We decided to go and see Neil and his am dram group in Allo Allo. We were not sure what to expect when we arrived and I imagined the awkward moment when we had to say how good it was thinking what if it isn't! Fortunately it was brilliant. We laughed loads and loads. Neil is clearly a closet Italian! ... read more

As we flew over the Thames I felt rather depressed about having to go back to working again after having such an amazing time traveling. Little did I know how much Heathrow Airport would do its very best to make matters even more unpleasant. When we landed, there were not any gates available for the plane to park at, so we sat on the runway for the best part of an hour. In the end they allocated us a section of the tarmac to disembark; however, the airport staff could not find anyone to drive the stairs over to the plane, so we just sat there for another half an hour until they got their act together. The pilot became rather fed up with the scenario and told us all that he was staring at three ... read more
