So today my roommate, lara, and I did free hugs at the bus station:) It was AMAZING!! there was mix of reactions- some saying that we were crazy, some saying no and others (the beautiful others) that opened their arms wide and let a stranger in. It was so great and every person that received and gave a hug just put a big smile on our faces! We met these amazing people and we are now going to start doing it weekly! So please do not write about this at all on my facebook unless it is a private message. If you do I will delete it, so just please don't. but i just want you all to know that i have been dating a guy for about a month. I didn't know if it was ... read more

So today was such a gloriously beautiful day:) It was about 50 degrees but because the sun was out it felt a lot warmer and all I had to wear out was a scarf and my hoodie. Today I did some grocery shopping and got food that I haven't touched since ive been here. Which included eggs, sausage, yogurt and hot dogs! I even splurged on bread which I haven't gotten in about 3 weeks and milk :) haha. I then came back and made myself a FABULOUS breakfast including sausage links, eggs, toast and ketchup. It was so so good, by far the best breakfast I have had since Ive been here. I then crocheted some more, took a nap and then got ready for the gym. My roommates took me the park walk way ... read more

So today I had irish this morning and learned numbers and something called "hitching" confusing but ya. Then I had to run up to the art history department house and pick my essay topic. Luckily I got the topic I wanted to, so I am a little excited but there were definitely two whole topics completely taken and only 4 more slots on the one I wanted and that was at 11am this morning after they were only put up at 6pm last night. I will be writing on reception aesthetics as it pertains to two artists in relation to each other. Basically that means I get to talk about what the art work/artist asks of the viewer. By far my favorite part of the class!! After that I sat in the cafe and crocheted. It ... read more

(PRE-WARNING: the end of this goes into a rant about knitting. haha read on at your own risk!!) So today was long but fabulous. Yesterday was long and not fabulous. haha. what happened yesterday? all i can honestly remember is my test. So: it went all right, I did the best I could do (which my mom always tells me is all I could have asked for) I know I aced the memorization part, but the rest about the patronage was quite challenging to come up with without just being banal or repetitive. And linking two images together based on their context gave me a few dear moments of hesitation. So the whole day I was kinda worried about that test so I don't really remember my irish class, earlier in the day, and then after ... read more

Sorry I haven't updated in ages! Life's been busy-ish. I have learned to love marketing on Saturdays. It makes me feel industrious and in control. I love going to the English Market just to look around, but since this Saturday was my 100-days-left-of-studying-in-Cork mark, I went a bit mad and made a fancy dinner, so I did more than look at the English Market! I got a salmon fillet and organic kale, then made a four-berry and black pepper sauce. This weekend was also style and fashion weekend! My roots were getting out of control, so I went in to a salon and said I wanted all the blonde cut off. They stylist was really dubious, but I assured her that was what I wanted. She did leave a little bit of blonde at the tips, ... read more

So my test went ok today. Luckily I knew all the facts about each work but it was challenging to have to place them by their patron and important facts. Needless to say, I am glad that it is over! I don't have time to write cause I need to read a lot for my class tomorrow :( sorry I promise I will write about today on tomorrows blog. hope you all have a great day! love you bunches!!... read more

So it was raining today and pretty cold so lara and i postponed our free hug day. I guess it wasn't meant. I had class at 9 then I went to the gym this morning and took that class that killed me last week so we shall see how i fair tomorrow? Then i came back and found a package from my nanny waiting for me and i wish beyond all wishes that i didnt have my test tomorrow so that i could actually watch emma and the white house thing (maybe not the football- but it made me laugh) I then studied for a few hours and then had irish class. Then studied and then had modern to postmodern. I then was able to talk to my art besty- Karolin. It was short but so ... read more

So today was really a relaxed day. I didn't have a tutorial this week so I only had my class at 6. So I went to the gym with kasey and worked out for a bit and then went to the steam room. It was lovely! the only bad thing was that i was in there with like 6 other males and so i felt a bit awkward. but oh well! it was fabulous!! after that i took a nap and then went to tesco and got my groceries. I got a bunch of fruit i am quite excited and i even got raisins which made me think of my sis and her obsession with them in high school 3. it was funny i forgot that i liked them and then i was like raisins are ... read more

So yay today was friday!! Started my day with Irish and basically just reviewed what we had learned this week including all about our family:) I need to make flashcards for that class but that will happen another day. In between classes i went to a little cafe and had tea and after finishing my one book last week, started my new book, "the time machine" by hg wells. It is really good and really short so hopefully i will be done with it soon so that i can start on my other library book, "atlas shrugged". After that little break, I then had my postmodern class where we learned about fetishism in 21st century art. It was really interesting and I am definitely going to spend some time reading up on all of what we ... read more
