Hi all!, Well we made it to Belluno in the north of Italy and finally off loaded the didgeridoo to Riccardo. Had a great time there, Tati and Riccardo were not only great hosts but also great tour guides. managed to get stuck in the lift here which was pretty funny, but was eventually rescued by the repair man. Visited Kalebs old school which was a tad embarressing to start with as we were taken to each class and introduced to not only the teachers, but also the students - was fun really. We visited some of the people that were involved in Kalebs stay and had many laughs. Not so funny was the 23 hour journey that got us from Belluno to Athens which was a combination of long train, sea ferry and bus rides. ... read more

welll... our main aim for this part of our trip was to see blue and white houses!! if you have ever seen a picture of greece you will know what i mean... it is those amazing white painted houses with blue shutters and doors overlooking the blue blue of the mediterranean!! basically we had no other plan!! so it was pretty easy not to be disappointed on this leg!! the other side point was that we had to be in istanbul, turkey on the 12th of may to catch a flight back to london so from athens we were island hopping across to ephesus and then on to istanbul overland! so we started out from pireaus (port in athens) and caught a ferry out to the island of santorini! an overnight ferry it took about 12 ... read more

Hey there soul-siblings, Sigh... another stamp on the old passport. I'm still a little melancholy about leaving Turkey, although our reluctant exit was almost a week ago -- We finally caved under the pressure of beginning our ill-planned Eurail passes. However, we had an excellent run of it. We spent our last few days holed up in Kelly and Alena's old haunt in Selcuk in the care of Harry, the slightly manic carpet salesman. We practically had to pry ourselves away after he offered us jobs there. All the people we met in Turkey were so happy and good natured and, honestly, it was no wonder -- They live in freaking paradise. Check our photoblog for some updated pictures from the cruise (photos.yahoo.com/eurolizandpia). Maybe I'm being a little overly dramatic, but we really did have a ... read more

Greece was a trip I was looking forward too .. My cousin's first trip abroad was somewhat of a disaster, so I decided to make this one a memory not to forget! We stayed in Ixia, just out of Rhodes town - which itself is a beautiful medieval castle .. amazing! Our hotel - Ocianis *or as they say Okeannis* is amazing - right next to the beach and bars wayheyyy! :D We spent alot of our holiday checking out the local shops, and lazing on the beach .. unless we were woken up by the man selling fruit! 'Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeelons, banannnnnnnna..' damn you man let us sleep! Lol .. We also headed to Eddie's Bar - and English and German run place, to catch up on some football. I wanted a sparkler in my cocktail, but ... read more

Man… The Aleutian Islands were a godsend after a year of the monotonous gray Chinese Skies. The beauty of this area is almost ineffable. Crystal blue seas stretch off onto the horizon, sleepy clouds drift in the light blue sky, and beautiful bikini clad babes walk to and fro on picture perfect white sand beaches. It’s paradise. I couldn’t have imagined a better vacation after a year in the industrial city of Nanjing. I had almost forgotten what nature was supposed to look like. I took the barren, albeit beautiful in their own way, peaks of Zijinshan to be a beautiful site after the course of my time in China. It's funny how time can do that to you and that is why travel can be so important. It breaks the images and beliefs that you ... read more

I am going to apologise in advance for this blog, I cannot remember much of my time in Kos but wanted to share my pictures with people/friends so please excuse my blog (or lack of a blog) & I hope you enjoy what I do remember & the few pictures I have that bring back so many memories. When I was 21 I had planned with my friend Peter to take a year (or two) out to travel however a job opportunity came up that I could not ignore & I was unable to travel, sadly my friend Peter did not go travelling either but he did spend a summer season in a part of Kos called Kardamena, which we had both spoke about doing to start our travels. Whilst he was there my friend Michael ... read more

There is a lot of history in Rhodes and during my time there I didn't see any of it, I was 19 when I went to Rhodes and I saw one part, the bars and clubs of Faliraki. We stayed with a tour operator called Club 18-30 who specialise in clubbing holidays for that age group, shortly after we had booked to go to Faliraki a TV programme started called Club Reps, it was basically about the night life in Faliraki and the reps that worked for Club 18-30. All of my friends and myself watched it and could not wait to go, we were all single and thought it would be great to go somewhere full of alcohol, late night clubs, sun, sea & of course lots of siestas ;-) But it would appear that ... read more
