I'm planning on traveling to Crete for a few days while in Greece, I have been looking all over the net and I am having a hard time trying to find a decent price for a place to stay for a single traveller.

Hi, first of all when are you coming? Tourist season is basically April-May to October-November, and many hotels/pensions close during winter. During the high season July-August-September prices go up a lot.

In a regular hotel the cheapest would probably be around 30-35 Euros/single room. Don't know if there are hostels but there are certainly many small pensions around and the prices may be slightly cheaper - maybe you could get something for 20-25 Euros. Most of the time (weekends during August may be difficult) you should be able to find something on the spot and maybe able to haggle for a cheaper price. Because many of the cheaper places don't have webpages you will have to find them when you are there, but Chania is not a very big town and you can easily walk around the centre, around the Venetian harbour and surrounding neighbourhoods. If you are coming late you may want to book a place for one night and then find something on your own. I am not 100% sure but I think there is a hotel booking agency at the airport and they may be able to get you a last-minute deal also. Enjoy Crete it is alovely island and Chania is a very picturesque town.

that is a really good period for you - everything will be open but there won't be millions of tourists around. You will be able to find something on the spot and prices will be reasonable. Have a good trip Reply to this

Hi Lorriann ,

you can see villas in offer at <snip>. I booked a villa last summer through this site and was very pleased with the accommodation, the services and the price. Of course it depends on what kind of budget are you on.

Wish you to have a perfect time in Crete!
