This morning, we left Prague toward Munich, Germany. We drove through the famous beer making town of Plzen located in the corner of the Czech Republic. Have noticed the trees being a bit more yellow than I've seen anywhere else but still very, very green overall for this time of year. See lots of small hills covered with trees. It's very, very foggy. Visitability is very reduced so not a lot of picture taking being done-not that it's great picture taking from inside a bus through a window. Before crossing into Germany, we stopped one last time for a coffee break which allowed us to try to get rid of the last of our crowns. I used mine up on chocolate. It's always a good souvenier for those back home because everyone likes it and it's ... read more

This morning we made our way from Vienna to Munich. We had an early start to get the most time possible at Oktoberfest. Everyone on the bus was pumped for tonight, especially our tour guide as we were also celebrating his birthday. After a quick tour and lunch in Munich town we made our way to the hotel, quickly checked in and were then on our way to Oktoberfest. This place is crazy. It's like the Easter Show for adults, with lots and lots of beer! When we first arrived everyone went off in there groups to try and find seats to get a Stein. You can only order when seated in most of the tents. But people pre book tables months, if not years, in advance so everyone ended up at the Hofbrau House. The ... read more

Oh my god I didn't realize how long it has been since a wrote before!!!!!! Ok straight to it. I have 1 week today left on my tour, and I have a mean Contiki cough. The air con on the bus is evil!!! My tour manager suggested I see a doctor, but you don't need prescriptions in Europe so I have some Croatian atibiotics!? VENICE: wow a long time ago. The bar at the campsite was a highlight many a funny story thanks to a certain drink called the ATTITUDE ADJUSTER. Yes they free pour 4 spirits into a half litre cup 2/3 full and then flavour it with Breezers!! Very messy. Venice is beautiful. The water ways reek and the streets are mazes but the whole place is stunning and it was very surreal. Luckily ... read more

Well after my excellent time in Frankfurt hanging out and drinking it was time to head over to Munich so I could hang out and drink some more! I must say this was one of the most memorable events I've been to in my life, even if I can't remember it that well. After one last family breakfast (mmm nutella) we headed to the station for our train to Germany. Since we didn't have to meet our friends in Heidelberg until the evening when they finished work, we decided to meet the guys for ein paar mass at the Wiesn and some general hilarity before moving on. It was great. We'd text Gkee before leaving Salzburg and he'd got the message, so at a few minutes past half past twelves the guys strolled up, Gkee looking a little worse for wear after a hard first night. This time we chose the Hacker-Pschorr Tent with the clouds, though unfortunately the beer wasnt so good and we got the tourist treatment which was notably different from that of our day with the almost locals. We had a great couple of hours ... read more
