Geo: 29.2953, -94.8079Nikki and i woke before the alarm and I could tell we were still bouncing a little but not moving. i looked out the window and saw lights from what I thought were oil rigs. But, shortly after we woke up, the captain made an announcement that the Port of Galveston was fogged in and closed because visibility was zero. By now it was light enough to see that what i thought were oil rigs were actually ships. We were told that we were expecting word sometime between 7 and 9 am as to when the port would open. We were also told that we needed to go to our assigned breakfast time but we could continue to use our staterooms. We had decided to go to Cabanas for breakfast so when the time came ... read more

Geo: 25.8118, -87.2492 We started the day with Disney Trivia in the Promenade. After trivia, we had a little down time before we headed to Palo for Brunch. Ashlie was our server again and he was great as usual. We had a nice, leisurely brunch and then went to see Jack-Jack’s Incredible Diaper Dash. Three babies competed to see who could crawl across the finish line first. Then we headed back to pack a little. The girls and I went to a presentation of Disney Innovations: Theme Parks where we learned about the 10 innovations that were created by Disney. Things like: the Theme Park, audio animatronics, single entrance gate, a destination resort, specific ride vehicles, hub and spoke system. After the presentation, we just chilled on the verandah for the rest of the afternoon. (And ... read more

Geo: 21.9451, -85.1398Today we were at sea.We met at Cabanas for breakfast and then headed to the atrium lobby to meet Santa. Even though we were 15 minutes early, the line was already quite long. We were in line for over an hour but, we got to see him and our names were added to the Nice List. Before lunch we went to Cruisin' for Trivia (another second place). We went to Tritons for lunch. Regan informed us that the calamari and pasta she had for lunch in Tritons was better than what she had the night before. We had some down time before our next activity which was a family craft. We made foam flower shaped thermometers. Then it was off to another trivia. This time was Movie Tunes Trivia. We took home Winner Medals again.Keslie and ... read more

Geo: 19.3086, -81.2521 We arrived at Grand Cayman around 9:00 this morning with an all ashore time at 9:30. Today we had booked an excursion not from the cruise line. Our tour was with Captain Bryan’s to take a Catamaran to Stingray City and snorkeling. Originally we were booked on a tour at noon but it had been changed to 1 pm due to cruise ship arrival times. We got off the ship at about 10:30 and looked to find a place to eat and decided on Dairy Queen (because there wasn’t many other choices near the cruise terminal). Then we went to meet up with Captain Bryan’s. We were informed that due to the weather, they were not taking the cruise out and it had been cancelled. They arranged for us to go with a ... read more

Geo: 18.7828, -87.675Our meeting time was 7:50 am so breakfast was in Cabana's at 7. We met in the Promenade lounge where we found out again that we were the only people who were going to be on our tour. There was another group doing the same tour but we had booked an Adults Only excursion so we lucked out.We me out guide Diana who took us to Kohulinch ruins. The ride in our van was about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Kohulinch is a relatively new restoration which began in the 60s. It was a large city and we were only able to visit a small part of it. We learned a great amount of history about Mayan culture and the people who lived in these cities. We even got to climb to the top of ... read more

Geo: 20.4286, -86.8792We were in Cozumel today. Our meeting time in the Walt Disney Theater was as 8:45 so we met for breakfast in Cabanas and then headed town to the theater. When we checked in, we found out we were the only people on our excursion which we liked. However, we were headed to Playa Mia Beach where 400 other people from our ship were going to be. We did find out that cruise ships rarely port in Cozumel on Sundays and we were going to be the only ship in port that day.We were kept separate from the rest of the group and when we got to Playa Mia we were escorted to the kitchen where we met our chef/teacher Luis and his assistant Moses. We were offered drinks and then taught the correct way ... read more

Geo: 23.2131, -92.2919 Both Regan and I had spa treatments first thing in the morning and Kelsie wanted to work out and spend time in the Rainforest so breakfast was on our own. Nikki and I met up for the DVC Member Gathering and then we all went to Anyone Can Cook and learned to make lobster ravioli. Lunch was on the pool deck and we all grabbed things from different quick serve locations. We also played (and won) Disney Tunes Trivia and then we played Movie Quotes Trivia (we came in second). Dinner was in Animators Palate. After dinner we went to see The Golden Mickey’s and then to Majority Rules and Match Your Mate before turning in.... read more

Geo: 29.2953, -94.8079We got up and got ready for the day. Breakfast was in the hotel and was included with our stay. Then Regan and I ran across the street to Walmart to pick up a few last-minute items. Around 10:00 we loaded the car and started to drive to the other side of Galveston Island. The drive took us about 15 minutes and I dropped the girls and the luggage off and went to park the car.The terminal was not open yet so we got in line outside of the terminal and waited until they opened it. Then through security and then the check in process. Around 11:45 they started boarding the ship. Our friends Lee and Debbie Davidson were doing back to back cruises and they were already on board so we met them ... read more

Geo: 40.7595, -111.888We left home at noon for our 2:00 flight and and everything went smoothly. We arrived in Houston on time, collected our bags, picked up our rental car and got on the road. Before we knew it, we were on a cashless toll road with no way to get off. So, what else can you do but run the tolls….cant wait to see what the fine is going to be.Our hotel was the Hampton Inn and Suites in Galveston. After checking in, we went to find a place to eat. The front desk clerk at the hotel recommended the Brew House just down the street so, we headed that way. The food was great and so was the service. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Galveston. Then it was back to the ... read more

Geo: 40.7595, -111.888We got up at 6:00 am and got ready to leave Europe to go back home. Breakfast was served in a breakfast room and courtyard of the hotel. It was a nice European style breakfast. We then lugged our bags down the street, over the bridge and up the street to the Pizzale Roma where we met our driver to take us to the airport. After about a 30 minute drive we arrived at the airport, checked in and made it through security. The first leg of our flight was to Atlanta which was a 10.5 hour flight. We then had a 2 hour layover in Atlanta to get through customs and make it from one end of the Atlanta Airport to the furthest terminal and gate. Customs was very quick and we got to ... read more
