Geo: 40.7528, -73.9853We decided that we would sleep in today and start our touring around 9:30. Once we were all dressed and fed, we walked down the street to the Gray Line Bus Station, to pick up our tickets for the double decker bus tours. Our first bus tour (and only one today) took us uptown. We saw Central Park, Harlem and many sites in between. The highlight, was that we got to see the LDS Temple. Regan was really excited! We got off the bus right in front of the Carnegie Deli so we decided to eat there. $22.95 for a sandwich! We decided to share $3.00 for that! Anyway, the sandwiches were HUGE and were good and, we are on vacation. We then jumped back on a bus to go to Macy's so we could do ... read more

Geo: 40.7528, -73.9853We had to be at Battery Park for our 9am Ticket time by 8:30 so we were up early. Grabbed breakfast in the hotel and then took a train to Battery Park. Just after we got off the train it started sprinkling. We went through security and boarded the boat to Liberty Island. Luckily most of the time we were under a covering so we didn't get too wet. Once we got to Liberty Island, the rain had stopped so we were able to walk around and snap a few photos before getting in line to go up to the Platform which is the highest point you can go since 9/11/00 when they stopped letting people up into the crown. It was cold and windy but still no rain. The statue is really cool ... read more

Geo: 40.7528, -73.9853Today I was woken up early when Kelsie sent a text telling us she was on her way to the airport. I got up and worked a little and then got ready to leave. I woke Nikki up and asked if she was going to go to breakfast with me. She got some clothes on and we went down to grab something to eat but, because we are are the awesome parents we are, we let Regan sleep.Nikki walked me to the subway station and I got on the subway to head to JFK. When I got to the transfer stop to catch the AirTrain, Kelsie sent me a text that her flight was delayed. I got to the airport and went to the ticket counter where I was told that they wouldn't let ... read more

Geo: 40.7528, -73.9853My parents picked us up at 8:30 and dropped us off at the airport. Getting through security was a breeze and we were on our way. We saw Casey Taggart at the Cinnabon and, of course, had to buy one.The flight was basically uneventful. When we took off the pilot told us we were going to arrive in NYC 30 minutes early. When we were about 30 minutes out, he confirmed this with us and, as he promised, we landed at 4:20 instead of 4:50. However, the airport didn't know we were coming and didn't have a gate for us. So, we sat on the tarmac for one hour before they got a gate open for us. Then, when we pulled up to the gate, we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone ... read more

Geo: 28.36, -80.6081Today was a sad day, the end of our cruise. We had to be at breakfast by 6:30 am. Since we had already packed we didn't need much time to get ready so Mickey called us at 6:00 am. Nikki and I showered and then got the girls up. They got dressed and we checked the room to make sure we weren't leaving anything behind and left our stateroom for the last time.We went down to Parrot Cay to have breakfast. By the time we were finished the line to get off the ship stretched all the way from the Atrium into the restaurant. We got in line and spent the next 45 minutes waiting for the Authorities to clear the ship. Once we were of the ship we boarded a Motorcoach to the ... read more

Central America Caribbean » Bahamas September 1st 2008

Geo: 25.0533, -77.3273Mickey woke us up with a phone call at 7:15 so that we could put on our swimsuits and get breakfast before getting off the ship on Castaway Cay. The ship was cleared and we were off the ship by 8:30. We began our Treasure Hunt and then found our beach chairs on the Family Beach and picked up our snorkel equipment and floats/tubes.Regan, Kelsie and I went snorkeling. The fish were coming very close to us and it kind of freaked Kelsie out a little and she wanted to get out. Her mean old dad wouldn't get out with her and made her stay in the water. We saw a whole bunch of fish and even found the Minnie that has replaced Mickey. A storm came in really quickly and we were told ... read more

Geo: 23.8055, -74.8828We were at sea today and we had agreed to let the girls sleep in again. I woke up at 7 and went out to read. I finished my book and while I was reading Nikki came out. Scott and Cheryl had filmed the Panama Canal Crossing and Scott made us a DVD of it so we watched it. It was really cool to see it all in time lapse...a whole 10 hours compressed into about 18 minutes. At 9:00 we had a DVC member group photo in the Atrium so Nikki and I went down for that. I had decided that I wanted to go to a behind the scenes tour of the Walt Disney Theater at 9:30. After the photo we still had a few minutes so Nikki and I ran up to ... read more

Oceans and Seas » Caribbean August 30th 2008

Geo: 18.8335, -67.8735 Today we were at sea. We all planned on sleeping in but, the sun now comes up on our side of the ship so it was pretty bright and I was awake at 6:30. I decided to run down to the laundry and see if I could get some wash in. There were a few washers about to finish so I waited. By the time the laundry was done it was 9:30 and I thought it was time to get to get the girls up so that Raymond could clean our room. It took them some time to get ready but we made it to the Promenade Lounge by 10:15 for the family craft. We made masks. After the craft we went to Shutters to see if we could find the photo of ... read more
