Thursday 30 January 2020 Our next adventure, six weeks in Sri Lanka. We are flying early on Friday from Larnaca, so decided to stay local the night before. Our packing preparations had been happening for the last few days and we had packed most things on Wednesday. So after a few final things were packed and shut the house down we left at 1100 am. There was a final errand, which concluded quickly enough and we were on to the motorway at Paphos around 1200. As we hadn't yet eaten and had all the time in the world we thought it would break the journey, to have something to eat at Limassol Marina. Thursday 8 March 2018 continued We waited at the gate and saw the plane come on to the stand. The airport had quite a few shops and food outlets and was very well set up. Much better than I had expected. Boarding commenced and we walked out to the plane, which was nearly full. Only a short flight of about an hour. We were given our arrival cards on board. We circled Don Muang airport a few times, but eventually got down. Smooth landing. This arrival into Thailand was sort of not planned as we didn't know 100% whether we would do Cambodia or not. Friday 2 March 2018 We both had a good nights sleep, after an early night. A retail day today. Stirred early and on our way at 9.30 am. Back across the river on the ferry and up to the Skytrain. First I added some money to our Rabbit cards and then a simple journey without changing to the last stop at National Stadium. A friend had previously given us a recommendation about MBK Mall and there are signs from the station, so easy to find. It is seven floors of shopping. Wednesday 21 February 2018 Our last full day in Aonang. Weather hot and sunny. An easy day today. We left the room at 10.45 am and headed up the coast. We watched the world go by at the port area for a while. We have been very patiently waiting and watching for someone to fall in the water as they get in or out of a boat, but sadly it hasn't happened. So, after being disappointed again, we walked along the beach and headed to one of the posh bars for a drink. A small Chang and a pineapple juice. Monday 12 February 2018 Weather hot and hazy. Woke about 9 am. Left the room about 11 am and strolled to the port area to people watch for a while. Then off for some beach time. We went to the end of the Aonang beach to our usual place. Lots of people here, with the beach bars behind and vendors selling drinks and various foods on the beach. We did the usual of cooling off now and again in the water, but after a couple of hours decided to finish. On the way back we both had sandwiches in Cafe 8.98 for our lunch.
