So, no blog for yesterday but it does need a mention. Basically worst weekend of the year to choose to head to Amsterdam! We arrive at the airport last night and had no dramas - amazing yes i know, boarded the plane, they shut the doors and the captain comes on the loudspeaker and says "so the good news is we are all on the plane. The bad news is that we have to wait 2 hours on board before taking off due to snow in Amsterdam!" Awesome! So wer all stuck in the plane for 2 hours and we hear from Kellyu, who was flying out of a diff airport to say her flight was 3 hours late! Today we decided to stay at the resort for most of the day. It’s such a beautiful place, and it seems a shame not to make the most of it. After another yummy buffet breakfast (and extra bits stolen for lunch) we wandered leisurely down to the pool side (the privileged pool ofcourse!) and nabbed the two best sun seats in the place, all day sun, but umbrellas put up to keep us in the shade if we wanted. There were 6 seats in our little posie, and within an hour, we had spread so that we were using 5 of the 6 loungers! We were very excited about this morning because the buffet breakfast was included with our accommodation...and what an amazing breakfast it was too...we couldn’t really do it justice, but we sure gave it our best shot! There were many different kinds of fruit to choose from, toast and a range of Danish pastries, a chef cooking eggs just how you wanted it- scrambled, fried, boiled,poached or as an omelette, made as you wait, bacon, sausage, spaghetti,waffles,pancakes, rice, and more! We both had bacon and eggs, and waffles....and we could hardly move. It was a great place to check out the other guests too...we nanaged to work out who belonged to who, wo was the dad, the uncle, the wife, which child belonged to which mum and what country they came from etc...lots of fun! Had a lazy start to the day and decided not to pay resort prices for breakfast, but to go hunting for something nice but cheap. We wandered around for ages, but breakfast is not easy to find, unless you want rice or noodles which we didn’t. Eventually we found a bakery place, and we got croissants and a very poor coffee made by trainee. We went back to the resort to grab some towels and headed to beach. We paid 100 baht each for an umbrella and chair each, along with hundreds of others. Rach was still a little pink, so had head and upper body in the shade, with legs in sun- woohoo, the tanning begins again! We woke after having a good sleep with awesome pillows! J We headed down to one of our pools where breakfast was being served. It looked like most people paid to have breakfast included in their rooms as they were all having the buffet which separately cost 600 baht!! Thats like 6 lunches nooo way! So we ordered something lil from the menu and enjoyed it in the sun by the pool then found our posies for the morning sun. We swum and attempted to get our tan on for 2-3 hours. It was sooo nice being able to finally stop and relax!! Bliss! And no rain – yet! After 2-3 hours we decided to relocate to pool #2 and order some lunch.
