Bonjour! Although we were a group of 'sept' coming from 'twa' different hotels from across Paris, we all met at 9am on the steps of Sacre Couer to view Paris from atop this famous vantage point. Kate and I had made good time from Hotel Little Regina and using the spare 10 minutes before the rest of Team Stewart arrived, discovered a quant little Boulangerie and sampled our first French croissant and pain au chocolat, washing down our breakfast with a very strong petite cafe. On arrival of the rest of the Stewarts, we commenced our accent of Sacre Couer, just as the day's first rain shower began, and everyone except me donned rain jackets (I conveniently don't own one despite living in Scotland!). Everyone successfully ascended the giant stair case, scoffing at the tourists taking ... read more

We woke up after having an amazing sleep cos there are 2 doors between the lounge and mum and my bedroom in this hotel so no audible snoring!! Whoop whoop! We had already booked a tour for today but none of us really knew what it involved so we figured out the metro and headed down to the depot of where the bus tour started. The day had started with some sun which we were all excited about but as we were lining up for the bus it started bucketing down with rain and it is the only day so far we hadn’t bought an umbrella with us! So we all got soaked! But was great to get in the bus. We did an hour and a half tour around Paris where I listened to the ... read more

We woke up today and thankfully had plenty of time cos our train wasn’t until 12.30. So we slept in a bit and then made our way to the station. Dad was very excited as we were about to go on the “chunnel” which I have never heard as an expression used for this train but have always heard dad call it this. And he did Wikipedia it and it is infact the chunnel! Go dad! So over the years we have given him so much crap for it and we had to apologise! Anywho, we checked in and had a bit of a wait so all got frappes and mjuffins to fill in the time then hopped on the train. It was fast and ear poppy but just in a tunnel for most of it ... read more

Up nice and early again for another full day starting off with me meeting sarah for breakie at Starbucks in earls Court. It was really good cos I wont see her before she now goes home in a few weeks so was cool to catch up with her. I then met mum and dad at the train station to begin our last day in London. It was another fantastic grey wet day in London! Surprise surprise! We had a river cruise planned for the day but we have already done alot of the main attractions now which makes today not quite as full. So we headed down to Westminster pier to start the day by visiting Westminster abbey, big ben and parliament house. Big ben and parliament we just gazed at and took a few snaps ... read more

We set out early again today as we had another full day, although nowhere near as early as yesterday! Weather was , yet again, drizzly and miserable. So, dressed in clothing that we would be wearing at home (where it’s winter) we set off...first stop Harrods! What a HUGE store! We could have spent all day exploring it! We did find time to stop and have a coffee and strawberry tart, which was very expensive, but delicious! Our next stop was the Tower of London. We decided to pay for the audio tour and take ourselves through the tower cos there were hundreds of people in the free tour, and we were having trouble hearing. What an incredible place, full of history. Hard to believe that it’s been around for so many hundreds of years...and that ... read more

We were up bright and early today at 5.30am to head into Wimbledon to start our lining up for ground passes experience! We weren’t staying too far away which was good so we got there about 6.45am which we were pretty proud of really! We joined a queue of people where I was number 2807 in the queue and began our day in the cold rain waiting waiting waiting! We had been told there was entertainment while in the queue but I think it was just so wet and miserable that even they decided not to brave it! Mum and dad were stoked that they could purchase a 3 pound picnic mat to sit on with a free paper and fundraiser size choc bar! It was a solid highlight of the morning and a topic of ... read more

We awoke this am pretty tired and mum exhausted due to dads wonderful snoring which im sure kept the whole of earls court awake! They were both knackered last night so coupled with no sleep mum was not in top for you could say! New sleeping arrangements were already being made! Anyway we showered and got up and at em! We had a Buckingham Palace State Rooms tour at 11.30 so hopped on the tube, clued up mum and dad on the tube system and headed into Victoria. We had a bit of time so headed round to the front gates to take some pics but there were sooooo many ppl there and all waiting for something which we later found out it was the changing of the guards as we missed it! Europe » Spain » Balearic Islands » Majorca June 5th 2012

We regretfully had to check out of El Vistamar this morning. After one final breakfast, one final session of “stuffing of stolen treats into Rach’s handbag”, and one more demolition on the pool table, we left our Majorca paradise and waved goodbye to Tomeu’s. Armed with a Google search of Majorca’s best beaches, we proceeded to visit S’Amarador Beach, a quiet little beach paradise hidden amongst a national park. I emphasise HIDDEN…we couldn’t find the bloody thing. Sue the stupid GPS was barking instructions to head down streets that didn’t exist and we ending up on bloody goat tracks that our little Toyota buzz bomb was never equipped to drive down. To say we were lost was an understatement as we almost drove into a drug lords beach side mansion (let’s go with that anyway). After ... read more

We’ve decided today that we’d do better travelling around on four wheels instead of 2. After breakfast (and pool, and stealing more treats for the roadtrip), we collected our keys and excitedly exited the hotel with anticipation of the what the day shall bring. However, a problem arose straight away…what does our car look like?! One would have thought they’d park it right out the front right?? Wrong…we’re the bloody hell did they put it. Rach and I parted ways and decided to walk around the block in opposite directions. We knew the number plate however that was it. So after about 15 mins of walking around in circles, walking up to random vehicles and pushing the keyless entry, we stumbled across our little buzz-bomb (parked on a side street!). So we’re all set, we hop ... read more

Wake up, super excited this morning as today is bike-ride Majorca day. I spring out of bed, throw open the curtains expecting a blast of morning sunshine but am quickly disappointed with the presentation of a grey and overcast day, and the soft pitter-patter of rain on the ground below. Umphhhhh, it’s not supposed to rain in Majorca, especially not during summer. That’s the sort of shitty weather we left for little Queeny as she floated down the Thames for her golden jubilee. But I digress. So we bugger the morning away, slowly eat breakfast and wait for a break in the weather. It comes just prior to lunch, and we venture out and select our shiny new 2-wheeled beasts from bike shed. On looking up at the heavens, we decide we’d better grab lunch as ... read more
