I just arrived at my hotel (hotel 97). Tonight was planned as my last night in Saigon ... and man did I have fun. Tonight was the craziest night Ive had up until now. Where do I start?! Let's start with me waking up at Kah's place. As Seleena, Cat and Taco had left yesterday there was more room at Kah's place. So I took the mattrass/blanket Seleena and I had been sleeping on and folded it double so that I had a softer bed. Travis was sleeping at the other end of the room and Sarah and Samantha (actually her name isn't Samantha but for some reason I always call her that) slept on their own mattrass/blanket thing. I also took both spare pillows. Needless to say I slept better last night. My alarm went ... read more

I'm kind of sick of this internet filter here in Vietnam =) I tried getting around it, but the few things that I tried failed as I don't have enough time to look for a good way to get around it. And there are ways, I know that. The proxies I tried fail, proxy.net is forbidden, etc. But I think a simple proxy would work. So, Yves, you think it would be possible for you to fish me up a (preferably secure) proxy? It's best that it does not have the word "proxy" in it. But anything other that that would work I think. Even dyndns or just an ip. Just got back from the Mekong Delta. I booked a ticket to Mui Ne, I'm leaving at 7:30am tomorrow. So this will be my last night ... read more

Motor cyclists should NOT drive like that at 6:30 in the morning when they have a tourist on the back who's holding 2 backpacks, haha =P I took the bus at about 6am from Kha's place (my couch surfing host) to the city center, as I needed to be at the Sinh Cafe in time for my Mekong Delta tour. On the bus I met a nice Vietnamese girl, Ngoh Ha was her name. Talking was a little difficult but I'm expecting an email as she requested my mail address, haha. Anyway, yesterday was very cool, we had a nice evening dinner after a day of walking and visitin musea. I shoulc go into details but I don't have the time. When I'm in Mui Ne (tomorrow) I'll try to remember and write a longer entry. ... read more

Hi all, I read your messages, but I don't have time to reply to them, sorry. My cell phone works, well, texting anyway. I sent messages to and received them from Lise. Now, that's important, because I need someone to go to my room and get my cell phone PIN code and send it to me! I'm getting a Vietnamese sim card but I need to know my pin number, ASAP if possible! In my room, second drawer from the top in the little cabinet next to the window there's a CD box from Mobistar. I believe I wrote my PIN in there. Kindly send it to me =) Everything is ok, I still have some stomach problems so I'm taking it easy. I'm going to take the bus to Mui Ne either tomorrow or the ... read more

And here I am again, still alive, which is good. Traffic here in Saigon is insane =P Anyway, we went for a walk today and went to see some musea. To be honest, there's not a lot to see here in Saigon. Because of that I decided to to the Mekong Delta tour tomorrow and the day after that I'll leave for Mui Ne. Mui Ne should have some great beaches so I'll probably kick back there for a day or 2, to get som rest. It's been all go since I arrived. Caroline is in Mui Ne at the moment, but she's leaving tomorrow. I think it'll be hard for me to catch up to her, and I'm thinking I'll continue this trip alone as she sent me her schedule and she'll be way ahead ... read more

We have now spent 2 full days in Vietnam after a relatively stress free flight from Heathrow to Ho Chi Minh via Bombay and Bangkok! Arriving Monday afternoon we were jetlagged and tired so opted for a 2 hour power nap before walking into town for food, still wearyfrom our journey. The streets of Ho Chi Minh are crazy with so many moptorcycles and mopeds to dodge every time you cross a road! We eventually stumbed across a restaurant for our first full meal. Yasmin had chicken curry and I went for beef (buffalo) noodles...after making our way back to the hotel we had a massive 14 hour sleep to overcome the jetlag! The following morning we started with a coffee before exploring more of the city. First we went to one of the main markets ... read more

Hi guys! So arrived in Singapore after 13 hours of servere turbulance, which Miss Davies managed to sleep through!!! Little shit! So to piss her off, once i'd seen the food menu I decided to wake her up. Prawn starter followed by beef! She was not happy! Finally got a chance to sit on down on the internet, so thought we would let you all know how we are doing. Got to Ho Chim airport, to be harrased by a taxi man. After agreeing to pay $10 more than the guide book said, the taxi man saw us coming!!! The tour started on Wednesday and they have had us up soooo early every day. We left Ho Chim City late mid Thursday afternoon. Mine and Anges first experiance of the city where odd taxi drivers that ... read more

Well we finally arrived in saigon yesterday morning after our train was delayed by 2 hours. The train station was abit confusing because theres lots of different types of trains going to saigon but after brandishing our tickets at the information counter for a while we managed to work it out! When we got on our seats were actually pretty comfy, we wedged our backpacks in under our feet and got quite alot of sleep for a journey! We found a nice little hotel above a paintings shop and set off to do some sightseeing. We went to the unification palace, which is where the north vietnamese tanks broke through the gates to take saigon in 1975. The building has been left exactly how it was on that day, and its quite eerie. Especially in the ... read more
