Koh Phi Phi is literally paradise! I had the most amazing 8 days of my life there! We were only meant to stay for 3 days and just kept extending our stay...everyone HAS to go there one day!!!!! Ok so we arrived on a boat from Phuket (Den of Sin remember?!) to the most beautiful island! The white beach is lined with Long boats with different coloured scarfs on the ends, turquoise sea and an amazing vibe like being in your first year of uni all over again! Its quite small, theres the more touristy holiday makers side and then the town which is mainly backpackers! We stayed in a hostel called Kinaree house right in the middle of town! The room was ok though they did squeeze 3 beds into a double room so there ... read more

It's monsoon season!! For the last few days we have had really heavy rain, and people are going out in the rain to shower... ha ha it's quite funny. Been out a lot lately on the beach.. at night the beachfront has some amazing clubs but they all turn off the music really early at half 1 because 3 weeks ago a tourist got shot by a local on the beach! So apparently now they have to turn the music off early so that the tourists dont get too drunk and rowdy.. Going to james bond island, monkey island and THE BEACH island (where leo dicaprio filmed the beach!) and snorkelling tomor. Very excited! We were going to kayak to a private beach aswell but not sure if we will as sean is scared ha i ... read more

Our last night in Bangkok was pretty amazing! We decided to live it up a little and pretend that we were 5* travellers and go to Vertigo Bar at a 5* hotel. The bar was amazing, it is on the 59th floor of the building and you can look out over the whole of Bangkok while you drink a cocktail! Immense!!!! The only draw back was that they forced Sean to wear these three quaerter length black trousers as he was wearing shorts! I found this highly hilarious however Sean was mortified by the whole experience and will forever be scarred for life!!!! Bad Vertigo!!!!!!!!! Now the 12 hour coach ride to Phuket was tough, i got sat next to this Thai women who persisted to fidget and move around during the entire journey. She unfortunatly ... read more

Helloooo!! Have been doing lots of stuff lately. Went to the banyan tree for our last night in bangkok, absolutely stunning. Its a rooftop bar in a hotel on the 57th floor and it has a view of the whole of bangkok. Literally the best place in thailand. Not much else has happened in bangkok really, haven't seen many ladyboys although we did watch the royal wedding in the pub which was lovely. I love harry!! Arrived in phuket 2 days ago after a loooong 12 hour coach trip and it was pouring with rain!! And the coach driver did about 10 pitstops - one to go toilet, one to buy a drink, one to buy food and another to get cigarettes. Thai people really have no sense of time... So... we have been in thailand ... read more

The day started at 6AM. I had not woken up that early since India. Being awake was not the hard part since there was a proper tropical storm occurring. My hut reverberated to the crashing rain. The hard part was packing. I had been in the resort for a week and my hut definitely looked that way, and more. Clothes were strewn everywhere and the mosquito net was nothing less than a complete inconvenience. Coincidentally, at my pick time, the rain subsided. This meant that my University of Manchester Cricket Club Waterproof had to go back to the bottom of the bag once more. The trip started with a short hop across the water by ferry, to the Ko Phi-Phi main harbour. Already I could see the scenery change. Quickly, a French couple, large Thai family ... read more

We've had a brilliant time the last couple of weeks so I thought it was definetely time to update the blog. Through the grapevine I've heard people are wondering where it is...... Finding accommadation on Ko Phi Phi was a bit of a nightmare and I spent the last two days in Phuket looking through loads of hotel info. I came close to pulling my hair out. Then I just came to the conclusion that EVERYWHERE is expensive in Phi Phi so just book. We finally found Mama Beach Residence in Ton Sai Bay - it was really lovely but like all Phi Phi hotels well overpriced. Our beach area was really nice and there was a cordoned off area where we could swim - some 5 star resorts didn't seem to have this so we ... read more

After departing India we did a complete 180 and headed to the opposite end of the spectrum… Thailand. We headed to Phuket where we had to overnight before catching the morning ferry to Phi Phi island. What a difference a day makes… we left India, a rather conservative country and ended up smack dab in the middle of hedonistic Phuket (Patong anyway). Phuket is the kind of island that has something for everyone, ranging from a nice family day at the beach … to partaking in some of the islands (not so) thinly veiled sex tourism industry and everything in between. In Phuket we were also re-introduced to the Thai “ladyboys,” (cross dressing, transgender thai men) who are readily available around the main tourist areas to service the needs of those with a more refined pallet… ... read more

We left for Koh Phi-Phi on the 27th Feb, the journey was just a few hours on a ferry and was relatively painless. We got a bungalow at PhiPhi Hill Resort, Haad Yao Beach it was quite expensive but really nice. We had to walk up 86 steps everytime we went from the beach to our room which was pretty tiring in the heat. We only stayed in Phi-Phi 2 nights as we'd already done the tour (mentioned previously in my Koh Lanta blog), this was the only disappointment as we'd both much rather have done the tour here rather than from Koh Lanta, it is also a lot cheaper to do the tours from Koh Phi-Phi. We decided just to relax and not do any sightseeing. We spent a day on the beach snorkelling – ... read more

Ok, this will definitely be a long one!! After leaving Hong Kong, we had a quick stay in Bangkok then headed out from Bangkok to Phuket. We landed in Phuket, took a van ride to the place where we would catch a ferry that would take us to our long tail boat which took us to our resort! We landed at the airport at 1:40pm and I think it was close to 5:30pm by the time we got to our hotel. Quite the journey. We were lucky enough to meet a couple from LA (Mark and Kate) while waiting for the ferry who ended up being very cool. We spent most of the time talking to them while we waited for the ferry, then on the boat ride over to the hotel. It's always nice to ... read more
