Quiet resort in Phuket

Planning a few days in Phuket and want your advice on resorts
13 years ago, March 2nd 2011 No: 1 Msg: #130235
We are planning a week in Phuket soon, as we've never been there in all our visits to Thailand. We don't want to stay in one of the big resorts like Patong or Karon but I'm sure there are a lot of hidden gems to find.

We want a beach that is not too built up or busy, but with some bars and restaurants at night - perhaps where you can travel to some of the bigger resorts if we fancy a big night out.

We'd like a resort that perhaps has a pool. Looking at the 1000 baht a night price range.

Any suggestions from people who have been would be welcome. Reply to this

Hey Kris and Kate - how about this? http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Thailand/South-West-Thailand/Phuket/blog-561053.html

There is apparently a couple of bars/clubs at the nearby Indigo Pearl (very modern decor, lovely grounds) and the other two resorts on Nai Yang beach (Dewar is nice but big $$) and Nai Yang town has a night market with a bit of action according to 20yo offspring of friends who just came back...

Taxi to and from Nai Yang beach resort to Patong to pick up some shopping is 600bht - I guess if you bargain you can get it down from there price wise. Nai Yang is just near the airport, but dont let that put you off or worry about plane noise overheard - the only time i even thought about planes was while watching kite surfing on the beach. Just had a look and theyre price this week online thru the site i use is 1500bht. Theres also cool little huts on the beach for about 300 - 500 bht.

In Kata Sawasdee resort is divine - tucked away unfortunately not beachfront but very quiet and has a lovely pool and restaurant is divine.

If you go to either let me know..ive buried treasure at both places 😉 Reply to this
