Many people have been told in the past to be careful what you wish for and with the helpful assistance of Koh Phi Phi, I too now understand the benefit of this advice. After a good nights sleep in Krabi, we headed down for a hearty breakfast before being collected and taken over to the ferry terminal in Krabi to go to our next destination of Koh Phi Phi. There have been many times in my life when I have had the need to praise my digestive fortitude and no more so than on the ferry ride over to Koh Phi Phi. Out of the 50 or so passengers on the ferry ride there were only about 7 of us who weren't soon dissappearing to be sick as a result of the not so tranquil seas. ... read more

NO PICTURES Putting this up as only text as its way overdue, laptop isn't working due to random windows XP crash due to shitty Microsoft. I'll add pictures later when facilities allow, in the meantime if you see Bill Gates private jet flying overhead try scatter some pigeons at its engines, that should teach the wanker to develop some decent operating software. windowssystem32configsystem Getting this when I start up, repair doesnt work, safe mode doesn't work and my computer doesnt have a windows cd nor a cd drive to run one. Any ideas welcome. In the meantime... I'm getting pissed on in Phi Phi, who would have thought? Seconds after myself and Blondie found a guesthouse the sky went the color of tarmac and forks of lighting began to tickle the rocky green peaks that shoulder ... read more

Thursday 20th January 2011 During our journey on the morning ferry to Ko Phi Phi, we took in the breathtaking views of the surrounding limestone karsts jutting out of the sea. On arrival we realised we wouldn’t be able to get cheap accommodation with air-conditioning, and it was so hot that wasn’t an option, so we pushed the boat out and were taken aback when we saw the location of our chosen resort over looking long beach with un-obscured sea views. Long beach was a short boat ride from the main town which meant it was very quiet and our private bungalow at Phi Phi Hill was above one of the best resorts on the island for a fraction of the cost. After settling in we had a lovely fresh fish meal before taking a 30 ... read more

After a very pleasant flight from Australia in which Alexa watched a world record four films (without some would say a good one among them), we touched down in Thailand, the final country on our travels and immediately found ourselves thrust into the hustle and bustle of a Bangkok rush hour. For those of you who have been to Thailand before you will probably agree that Bangkok is a necessary evil that has to be endured in order to travel on to either the spectacular jungles in the north of the country or the beautiful beaches in the south. The most common form of transport in Bangkok is the tuk tuk which is a sort of motor bike with a little open air carriage on the back. This open air feature ensures that it is possible ... read more

Traveling to Koh Phi Phi, we did not really know what to expect. We had heard mixed reviews of the place, although the ever reliable Oli had ranted and raved about the place with as much gusto as a young Freddie Mercury in front of a Wembley audience. OK, so he wasn't quite so hyped up about the place, but he said he really enjoyed it and that we should go. His advice, which ranged from obtaining the best price at market stalls to protecting our sphincters by asking for our food to be "not too spicey" ("meh phed" for anyone who is interested), was yet to steer us in the wrong direction so we followed orders and headed to the opposite beach to where we had been dropped off on Phi Phi Don in search ... read more

So, we just arrived in Krabi after 4 nights in PhiPhi (P.P) Island; I thought we’d be back into civilization but Krabi is actually a rainforest/rural area, (almost like Cairns). I was expecting something more like Phuket, but I actually now remember when I booked this vacation we wanted something along these lines, whoops. PhiPhi was lovely, which is more than what I can say for our ‘luxury’ accommodation; there was sand EVERYWHERE in the hotel, so much bloody sand! I can barely tolerate sand when I am at the beach, let alone have it follow me to my bed! Besides this minor hiccup, the actual Island itself was paradise. You could walk around the islands and markets within 45 minutes and be back to where you started. The water literally sparkles and the green mountains ... read more

Hello, Just re-read the last blog and realised it was a little bleak, luckily things definitely picked up when we got to Krabi. The journey was about 7 hours long and the majority was spent on a sweaty local bus, but we're old hands at this now. We're staying in a guesthouse about 10 minutes walk from Krabi town and even though we're only supposed to be there for the night, we end up staying for 3 more! It's burning hot weather so we spend the next couple of days on the beach in Ao Nang which is a bus ride away. Catching the sangtheaw to Ao Nang should be straight forward but I still manage to make the odd faux pas. On one ride in particular, I decide to stick my head out of the ... read more

The last three days have been an absolute mission - more death defying bus journeys, an over night sleeper train (Our beds right beside toilet) and almost missing our flight to the islands all for the sake of a BigMac!! On this final note I have to say we are complete idiots! We had a whole day of pottering around in Bangkok before our 8.30pm flight to Phuket. At 7pm we decide to go roaming the streets for a McDonalds and whilst we were deliberating over Fanta/Coke and BBQ/Chilli sauce the last call was being made at Gate B2 for two idiotic Scots who were about to miss their flight! By 8.10pm I am running through the airport with twice my body weight on my back (rucksak) and James balling at me to hurry up! Stressful ... read more
