After the Perhentian Islands I headed further south to Taman Negara national park. This has a reputation as the oldest untouched rainforest on earth and is home to animals such as the Asian elephant, Tigers and Leopards. As well as a plethora of birds, snakes, monkeys and insects. I took the train from a nearby city which cost 5 pounds and landed me a short bus journey away from Taman Negara; the views from the train were inspiring, constantly zigging past huge rivers and mountain highways. Similarly the bus journey had some awesome views, endless forests and palm tree fields made the trip in a small van barely noticeable. I was pretty surprised to spot 3 ‘ladies of the night’ still plying their trade out front, obviously a slow Tuesday night. The 4:50am banging on our bedroom door this morning was not necessary. We opened the door to a weary-eyed receptionist saying our bus was here to go to Perhentian Islands. Two problems with this – 1, we were going to the Cameron Highlands and 2, more importantly we didn’t leave for another 3 hours! Later that morning....... now fully awake ready for the bus, I took the opportunity to grab some snacks from the local shop. God is fair. He gave Malaysia a beautiful mountain range, Titiwangsa Mountain Range with a 130 million year old forest carpeted on the spine of the Peninsular Malaysia. Here I am going to share is about the people involved and the crops on this fertile highlands, the Cameron Highlands, North East of Pahang. Founded 1885 by a British surveyor, William Cameron. Po ciezkiej nocy z piejacymi kogutami i swierszczacymi konikami polnymi postanowilismy zwiedzic Park Narodowy Taman Negara. Przeplynelismy rzeke taksowka wodna i udalismy sie na slynny wiszaczy most o dlugosc 500m zawieszony ok 50 metrow nad ziemia. Gdy szlismy przez most ruszal sie on caly ale widoki byly zapireajace dech w piersiach. Po spacerku wiszacym mostem zdecydowalismy sie zapuscic glebiej w dzungle w dlugich spodniach, bluzach i skarpetach po kolana weszlismy na gore Bukit Indah oddalona o 3,5 km od naszej woski. Droga na gore byla zmienna przez rzeczki, pagorki a na koncu wspinalismy sie po linie na skalki. Z gory widac bylo piekny krajobraz parku narodowego. Wyprawa byla bardzo udana choc 40 stopniowy upal preszkadzal troszeczke i niestety po za mrowkami, pijawkami i paroma ptakami nie udalo sie nam zobaczyc zadnych dzikich zwierzat.
