Well, the journey has begun...and it wasn't the smoothest ride either. To say "procrastination" is an understatement of what I put myself through before getting here. From driving to Boulder at 9:30 the night before I left selling my car to a fresh-outta-highschooler to filling my prescriptions on the way to airport - I was running around like a madman to say the least. So, finally getting to the airport, I thought I had all my stresses behind me and I could look forward to an excursion filled with adventures and experiences. But that got put on hold...for a while. Hey all! OK we've just got around to creating a blog, so below are out ramblings so far. To recap, we flew into Mumbai, flew pretty much straight down to Goa and set up camp at Anjuna beach for new years. It was great - laid back, scenic, hot, lots of trance and incence and hippy tat. Felt like we were at a festival! Very nice too. We moved apartments to a quite swish one with our own kitchen and big balcony and everything! Goa. The title of this blog works best when said in a clear deep voice over the incessant backing beat reverberating from one of many beach shacks nestled amongst the swaying palms touching the edge of the pure white beach that I would be stretched out on. It is not because I don't like Goa, quite the opposite in fact, as with only a couple of weeks left in India, Amy and I were dangerously close to just getting stuck in Anjuna and the laid back "hippie" lifestyle without even making it to Hampi or Kerala. So after 5 days we dragged ourselves away from "Shiva Palace" our regular shack and the more permanent tourists that we had befriended and got into Panjim, the heavily-portuguese influenced capital of Goa where I am now before heading on ... read more

After 2 hours of sleep and a short break in Bahrain, I finally arrived in Mumbai, famous recently in the news but unfortunately for wrong reasons. Hence why there are so few tourists here (good for me but bad for the locals). My first minutes in Mumbai were slightly manic but it reminded me of why I love Asia so much. At the airport, someone told me that there is a free transport to a hotel, as they want to take care of the tourists following the bombings. I thought that makes sense, and go to the hotel where the tenant tries to sell me a shower at an incredible price. Taalla edelleen. Kohta jo kaksi viikkoa Anjunaa. Mikas taalla ollessa. Ihan kivaa on. Tai se muutaman paivan takainen ruokamyrkytys ei ollut niinkaan kiva, mutta siitakin selvisin. Nyt on enaa muistona kipeat selka- ja vatsalihakset. Oksentaminen on aika rankkaa lihastreenia... Olen ollut kiitettavan laiskana. Kirjoja on luettuna taas kaksi enemman ja rannallakin olen kavaissyt. Kavelyt suuntautuu yleensa johonkin ravintolaan tai sitten postiin. Taman viikon markkinat jatin valiin, silla noutankjuun hokeminen ei jaksanut huvittaa. Jospa sitten ensi viikolla paasisi jo ostostelun makuun. Ehtiihan tassa. Ja pakko muutenkin katsella, etta miten noi rahat riittaa. Joulusesonki nostaa majoituksen hintaa sen verta paljon (nyt maksan 300/yo ja huomisesta alkaen vissiinki 800), etta pakko alkaa laskea rupioita, jos mielii viela kotiin palattuaan ostaa uuden lapparin...
