Hi, I'm planning a trip to India (possibly arriving in New Delhi) but I'm a bit aprihensive... I've heard that western women can be hassled a bit and I'm going to be travelling alone! Any words of wisdom? Anyone going to be travelling here around the same time?

Thanks Reply to this

I've travelled in India and been to Delhi twice I had no problems just be sensible like you would anywhere. It's pretty easy to hook up with other travellers too. Just keep your wits about you and you'll be fine. Reply to this

shouldnt have much of a problem because lots of solo women travellers do come here...like tashav said be sensible where you go, and what you were..night time is best to spend in ur hotel room.. we indians have this bad habit of staring at people..just go easy...apart from that you are not likely to face trouble...and dont be too friendly with an indian stranger...not all are bad but then prevention is always better than cure..have a nice stay... hi,

I agree with the others - no problem at all ;-) In smaller towns or villages as long as you dont wear a mini skirt or just bikini top you should not attract much of attention ;-) Kids will always walk up to you but it is a very friendly and positive thing;-)

Enjoy,
B

Hi

I am not agree with some guys told that Indians are bad as it is not at all true ,Indian are best people in the world they are warm, cool, always try to help, gentle, good in nature, and always look forward to serve their guests, it all depends on individuals all are not bad like all fingers are not same, there are good people and bad people every where in the world and especially only you have to take care of yourself in all manners.

India is a Colorful country where you can learn and see many things where ever you will go as in Traditions, culture, history, food etc.

I will suggest you to come with open heart as other female tourists comes and enjoy their unforgettable tour to a great country and always take proper measures which we take in every days life.

Cheers

Hey you think wrong way Indian peoples are good. If you respect them they can help you and make you comfortable and treat you as you are their family member. Reply to this

if you go north , it is true , climate is less hot this time of year. Some places have more westermers, like Dharamashala , and manali, so you will not stand out as much. maybe best to go to one of those more touristy place first to get a hang of what Indian culture/dress is like Reply to this

Delhi welcomes you... If you have any trouble, Call Delhi Police by dialing 100. But I think this condition never come. Reply to this
