Die letzten zwei Tage, vor der Nahkampf Richtung Peking beginnt. Es sind auch nur mehr etwa 1300 km, fùr mich unvorstellbar, ich bin doch gerade erst in Gauting losgefahren. Es war wieder der Strassenbaufachmann am Werk, der großzügig alles aufreißt und dann auf viele Kilometer Chaos verbreitet. Denn man muss dann einfach durch, durch die Baustelle, den Dreck und durch die Löcher. Es waren immerhin weniger als 100 km diesmal, das war ja schon mal was.... An anderen Stellen ist man in China sehr penibel, überall gibt es Reinigungskràfte, die mit kleinen Besen die Straße fegen. Besen sind aus Bambuszweiglein und haben die Größe meines Gautinger Haushaltsbesens. Es ist also ein langwieriges Unterfangen. I have to say yesterday was quite an eventful day, it wasn’t so good at first but got much better towards the end. We all woke up pretty excited as we were going to see the famous ‘Terracotta Warriors’! After a delicious buffet breakfast, we found out Yashoda wasn’t coming to see the Terracotta Warriors with us and that we were going to be split into 2 groups (I was put with Bethany, Av, Autumn and Arlene) with one person taking the role as a leader (Bethany), trying to figure out how to get to the Terracotta Warriors. My class and I were travelling on train from Chengdu to Xi'an and Faith I were sharing a compartment. This tall guy came around the corner. He looked Chinese but he was half Chinese and half American and spoke with an American accent, which I thought was very funny. He (Ming) was travelling with his mum, dad (Steve) and grandma. We played cards with Ming and his dad for most of the trip. He taught us new rules for 'Snap' which they call 'Slap' in America. Ming and Av were the last two people in the game and you had to remember the last 3 cards. This morning, I was woken up by Avalon getting dressed. Yesterday Avalon and Bethany missed out on the opportunity to see the Terracotta Warriors because of kids getting lost and hopping on the wrong buses. So today they planned to go visit the Warriors early in the morning before most of the other tourists arrive. Faith and I went downstairs with Bethany and Avalon to have the buffet breakfast. After Avalon and Bethany started their journey towards the Warriors, Ken sent a text to the class groupchat saying he was going to try and find Xian’s Drum Tower and Bell Tower. Mission: Get to the Terracotta Warriors unassisted! When we left the hotel, we saw Bethany’s group on a bus passing us, but as we walked to the bus stop we found Autumn walking back because she’d accidently been left behind and didn’t know what to do. So we told her to come with us. As we waited at the bus stop, we were trying to figure out which bus we needed to get on. To find out, Tamara went up to two old ladies and showed them the text we got from Yashoda, showing them the symbols for the train station and they went up to the bus timetable and pointed to the one we needed to get on.
