... read more

Ok so i made to Harlem with Fabian and his friend, we asked around the streets where we could find a gospel mass...after some effort we found one. as expected we were the white minority, but it was awesome. 2hrs of the most inspiring church time i've ever experienced....With the music and the passion of the preacher, you couldn't help but get caught up. As visitors we were warmly welcomed and met some people afterwards, very cool!!! spent the afternoon meandering around harlem and then the afternoon in central park. it's amazing to think of this massive green haven in the middle of manhattan. it's pretty bizarre to see the skyscrapers peeking over the tops of the trees!!! so many people, i guess they don't have backyards like we do. we saw the coolest thing...there ... read more

Hi All Well its our last day in New York. Up early to catch the train to Washington DC. Spent the day doing what we do best- shopping. Also went to NYU, Wall Street, Madison Square Garden, Soho, more men in uniform, and the site of the world trade centre. Quite spooky, lots of work going on to rebuild the new Trade Tower. The city gets more exciting and beautiful as every day goes past. Anyway, have a nice cold beer on ice waiting for us so shall check in soon. Love to everyone, don't work to hard!! Kiss Kiss, hug hug The Three Amigos... read more

Hey hey, i arrived in New York on thursday morning at like 1am, not great. After dodging the dodgy cab drivers at the airport, i finally found my shuttle ride and arrived at the hostel. there was a 3hr time change so i lost a few hours and ended up sleeping in til midday. after that i was in desperate need of some clean clothes and so made my way down to the local laundrette, what an experience that was. it seemed like it was in a neighbourhood much like that of say the fitzroy comission flats, bit seedy, but educational all the same. given the hostel did not have the atmosphere the others had, and i was worried i wouldn't meet people to hang out with, i started chatting to a guy in the laundry, ... read more

Dear Friends and Family, Hello all. For those of you getting this email I am thinking about using this as my communication for my trip to China. I am going to see how it goes over the next few days and might decide just to use email (so far I have not found a spell check and I need that). Also, I might ramble at times and will not be offended at all if you don't read the whole thing :) Supposedly I can also post pictures on here, but have not taken any yet. We just finished our first day of orientation at Asia Society in NYC on Park Avenue. If you have talked to me at all in the past few weeks you know that I have fallen in love with New York after ... read more

I landed last night in Philadelphia nearly 2 hours late, and stayed up quite late, so I was exhausted this morning when I woke up. My mom & sister & I did the big drive up from Philly to White Plains, for Kysa's surprise wedding shower. It was great- lots of old friends to celebrate the imminent arrival of her big day with Arin (check out this blog in August for an update!). I got to meet his parents, and also catch up with my school friends from Princeton. We went into NY city afterwards, and had a great dinner out with Bootsy, Brad, Jane & Dwyer. ... read more

on sunday (july 1st) there was canada day (appearantly that's how they call their independence day) which was pretty uneventful exept for some canadians walking around camp with flags/flag colors, and at night i stayed up very late to preper my lecture for yom israel (or yom israel day, as some people here like to distort it :) which was on monday (july 2nd) - a day in camp that's dedicated to isreal. most of my time working on it i spent battling with the useless pieces of junk that around here they call 'computers', and one of which even destroyed my cute mp3 player. on monday we had an israeli lunch (falafel) and after it all of the electives were about israel. i did one about sderot and the music that came out of it ... read more
