Hi everyone, Well I've been back in London for nearly 3 weeks & unfortunately I've aclimatised myself back into the bleak, grey, cold, wet........... Since I've been back all I have done is dreamed about the nice warm weather & blue skies that you all have, minus the big storm that decided to blow in on my birthday. But I am kinda happy to be back in jolly ol London. I do want to say that it was great to see you all and I wish I had had more time to spend with you. My time home was absolutely exhausting. I don't think I've eaten & drunk so much in years. Breakfast, lunch & dinner with coffee & cake in between. I was having so many meals I was starting to think I was a ... read more

journey from 02 Aug 2002 to 01 Aug 2003 나의 첫번째 여행의 Destination. 그 글을 읽었을 ... read more

Last time I wrote I think it was the night before Rachael was due to pick us us from the backpackers - we'd arranged to stay with her and her boyfriend Josh for a couple of weeks. Although me and Rach got on well and had some good laughs last time I was in Australia - I was still a bit anxious about how it was all going to turn out - especially has I'd not seen her for 4 years and Phil and Josh had never met! It was either going to go really well or be a disaster! (as it turns out Rach felt exactly the same!) We have been there for 3 weeks now and its been great, I think we all get on really well. Rach and Josh are good as gold ... read more

Posted by Sarah March 21st Monday morning Martin and Allan from the Motueka club took the Team for a walk in Abel Tasman National Park north of Kaiteriteri. Abel Tasman is the most visited national park in New Zealand and its popular trek can take 3-5 days. We opted for the (easier) 2-hour section and even had a lovely water taxi ride home! After our picnic lunch we toured a hops production and processing facility. The hops from this facility are used by Coors in Coors Light beer. Some hops are also used by microbreweries. The aroma was great. I also got to see my first kiwifruit plant Monday afternoon. Kiwifruit will be harvested next month. Tuesday we had the privilege of touring the Talley’s fish processing facility and ice cream factory—and yes, we got to ... read more

Hello from OZ Yesterday was pretty much a write off. After we checked in to the hotel and got settled in we went down to the hotel restaurant for a breakfast buffet. It was nice, but was also over in about 20 minutes. Went back to our room and everyone slept about 18 hours until 6am Tuesday march 21st. Tuesday morning everyone was up bright and early and we headed out to walk around downtown Sydney. Quite a busy place and everyone driving is in mad rush! Driving the campervan is going to be fun! Anyways, we walked down to the harbor area, called circular quay, saw all the ferries, and a large cruise ship. We ended up in a small restaurant called the Sydney pancake house, which serves every kind of pancake imaginable. Breakfast was ... read more

Days 128 & 129 We were picked up at 7.50 outside our hostel for a trip to Cape Tribulation. We were happy to be going as it was a bit hit and miss because of the cyclone. We stopped for some breakfast and then went on a boat trip up the Daintree River, crocodile spotting. We were really lucky and saw about 10, include a mummy and her 4 little babies and the big bad croc of the River, Gummy who has no teeth! Like old humans, crocs lose their teeth too! We then did a guided eco walk through some rainforest looking at trees and stuff. We arrived at our accommodation about 1, which was like a haunted house with all the MASSIVE spiders and alien looking bugs lurking in every corner. We had lunch ... read more

Day 22 - Thursday 16th March Fire Awareness Course! This saw us dressed in overalls, goggles and hard hats learning how to put out fires. Is there no end to our new skills. Later on we met up with Aunty Elizabeth at Cottesloe Beach (our favourite beach) to watch the sunset and have a fish and chip supper. Mind you it was like a scene out of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds"! At dusk all the birds congregate on the trees and the noise is horrendous. Day 23 - Friday 17th March St Patrick's Day. And where else would you be but in Durty Nellie's drinking pints of guinness! We met up with some other Woodsiders and OMVers and enjoyed a spontaneous evening out which resulted in us playing Rock, Paper, Scissors as no-one could agree on ... read more

Just thought I'd add a couple of photo's from my "business" trip to fiji a few weeks back. Whilst staying at the backpackers over the weekend, and talking about my impending travel plans, I got asked a number of times what I was thinking quitting a job that sends me to Fiji... ... I have yet to come up with an answer... read more
