So since our last entry we have done a few wild things as well as chilled out. We went on a tour of the Pinnicles, which is basically loads of limestone formations that have been left after years of erosion of the ground- an amazing view. But the trip also allowed us to see our first Koala and many kangeroos!! We also went sandboarding, which was great fun- I kept to the safe method of sitting on my bum on the board where as David had to show off and go head first- he loved it! We also went of roading on the 4 wheel drive on the sand dunes- very exhilerating. The tour guide-Big Al was a really nice guy and gave us loads of tips about driving in the outback. We got to sit ... read more

Thanks once again to everyone for your messages and emails, always great to hear from you all!! I have just had the most fantastic trip travelling with Planet Perth, and nine others, we had a good humoured 'surf dude' driver called 'Simon' who took us to all the nooks and crannies on the way, not to mention stopping often to look at the wildlife and wild plants. He had a funny habbit of repeating everything he said. Our bus was named 'Disco Bus' with some OK music. First day we went through the Nambung National Park, and walked through the Pinacles, which look like stalegmites (in the outdoors), you could make out different shapes and it was quite earie as you walked through them all. We had a picnic lunch at Hangover Bay and the excellent ... read more

The night before we left Darwin it was decided that Kartherine would drive the first leg of the trip down the West Coast. This was partly because we thought we might be slightly hungover from the night before and Katherine is the sensible one and also it was her credit card we were using as the bond. Unfortunately the 7 days to get to Perth is absolutely ridiculous as we were hoping for at least 2weeks - so we had to be organised! We had decided the previous evening that Katherine and I would pick the van up and Gary and Pete would get the food in (we never expected either of them to actually get up and get the food). We were all up relatively early to pick the Camper up and hit the road. ... read more

So... In fact, the picture of the Karijini Nat. Park are already uploaded in the previous journal.

So yup, I'm still here in Freo. Still working at the pasta place, still living at the hostel. Things are good, as Roy here would say "it's absolutely average". The itch to start moving again is coming back that's for sure. But still trying to save up some money to hit the road. I'm starting to look for other jobs now, one that'll pay more nad have more hours. And, also starting to look for a flat to live in, as it ends up being cheaper than living in the hostel, and help out with the funds as there's always something going on here. Well this month are the birthdays. We are 6 of us celebrating this week. Last night there was a big bday bash for Josh (one of the staff members) and Rob (who ... read more

Sorry we have not updated the web for a while however we have spent 3 web sessions trying to download immages on to the blog. However this is not working for us. We are not sure if it is because our new camera is taking photo's too l;arge to download and we can not download the program to make them smaller either. We will share pictures when we get home although I am not poetic enough to describe some of the amazing views that we have been able to see so far on our trip. 16th Sept. This morning we said a sad and fretful goodbye to Dennis and Dave as we put them on a plane for Melbourne and a week later we are having so much fun that we hardly miss them but have ... read more

So, Catching up on my old blog - and announcing my NEW ONE! Thank you so much for following my Travel Blog from my flying days. How things have moved on since then! I cannot believe that it was four years ago that I was conducting the 'travel' adventure with Emirates and gallivanting across the world. Many of you have written to me asking advice about working with Emirates and about Dubai generally. I hope that I have been of assistance to you, and I haven't got round to it then please feel free to drop me a line again. 4 Years On I am no longer in Dubai. I was there during the boom - and very during the BUST! What a shame - but it was certainly good fun while it lasted. I doubt ... read more

Day 75 Margaret River to Albany 12/09/06 It rained quite heavily during the night, but we awoke to the sun breaking through a cloudy sky. As we got up we found some puddles on the tent floor. This was due to water leaks around the rear door and unfortunately the laptop carry case was sitting on the floor and soaked. Luckily, the laptop seemed to be dry and I was able to dry the case with Leanne’s hair dryer. After breakfast the boys fed the farm animals with our food scraps, while Leanne and I began the pack up. We left Taunton Farm around 10.30am and drove to the Margaret River Dairy Company Cheese Outlet, just up the road. We tasted several of their cheeses and purchased some Vintage Tasty, Sweet Chilly Club and a jar ... read more
