Well Dan left for Ireland on Wednesday - my 25th birthday :( Was sad to see him go and I wished I was leaving as well so we could be having fun on the plane together! But someone got a frequent flyers ticket in business class.... oooerrr Dan - just remember - you've had a taste of the good life, now economy will be twice as unbearable! :p So I leave in 9 days... August 2nd. I cant wait! The bit I think will be the most exciting, is walking through the doors at the airport in Kalmar, Sweden and seeing Dan! I love going on planes... so I am really looking forward to that part. My only hope is that I don't get sat next to some fat stinky annoying pig who will insist on ... read more

Well, we have finally finished work and are about to hit the road again. I enjoyed working at Rolls-Royce Marine and will miss all the great people I met there and Andrew will miss the 'footy' chat at his work in Fremantle Hospital (now he only has me to chat to for a while - poor bastard!) We are really excited about getting into travelling again after replenishing our bank accounts a little. I will miss driving Frank's car to and from work every day. Initially I was a bit nervous about driving such a big automatic car and in a different country but it was great after a couple of go's. I think it has renewed my confidence in driving a bit. The only bad thing was the other 'idiots' on the road. Australians are ... read more

Last day in WA Everybody is at work Quiet day at home. Today is my last day in Perth and I have a few things to do like catch up on my blog, pack my bags, burn photos to CD (I think I have 1GB to transfer!), knit a baby toque/beanie for Sarah's friend who will be having twins shortly, and of course eat. haha I took it pretty easy and did a little knitting and watched a bit of morning television while having a bowl of cereal. Then I showered and washed up before booting up the computer. Bummer that there was a problem with the internet connection but no worries I have lots of photos to organize and burn to disk. Judging by the number of pics I already have (almost 5000!) I'm gonna ... read more

Washing repairman Bang on door! Did I sleep in? Nope. He is early. I thought that I was going to have to wait around for the washing machine repairman between 9AM and noon but at 7:26 this morning I heard a bang on the door. My first thought was that I had slept in! The Dina's purchased a new washer and it was delivered on Saturday and everyday since then it has been leaking water. Typical, at first the repairman didn't see any leaking and eventually after a lot of searching he discovered a crack in the bowl! So now a new washer is on the way. After a little knitting, watching breakfast TV programs, eating breakfast and showering up I made my way to the computer in hopes of updating my blog. I had good ... read more

Away six months now Four and a half months to go Seen & done so much. Sarah has the day off and we'll be off exploring more of Freemantle today. It was cleaning day in the Dina household so I put in my two cents and helped with polishing the wooden windowsills and furniture. Ooh! You should see how shiny the coffee table is now. lol We had an early lunch before heading into Freemantle to catch a Captain Cook River Cruise down the Swan River. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather - nice and sunny but not too hot. We pretty much stayed out on the front deck of the boat to enjoy the scenery. There sure are a lot of expensive houses in the Perth/Freemantle area. We passed by the most expensive Australian ... read more

Met up with Karen Eggs Benedict are yummy Good laughs all around. Sarah and I drove out to Fremantle to meet up with Karen on “Cappucino Avenue”. Tons of cafes and restaurants line the streets. The restaurant where we met Karen was pretty busy so we crossed the street and went over to Benny’s another busy place but we were able to get a table easily. We chatted, we ate, we wandered. We also did a bit of a walk around the shops and the markets. I didn’t buy too much - a couple of cards - just did a lot of browsing. We had a little fun in the $2 store in the kids section to see what I could pick up as a gift for Adam. There were these planes (three of them) for ... read more

In Perth CBD A little window shopping Retail therapy! Sarah and Sharifa had a biweekly (or is that semi-weekly…anyway once every two weeks…) meeting to go to for a few hours so Sarah dropped me off in Perth to wander about the streets…basically doing a little shopping! There are basically two main streets full of shops that I browsed. I picked up a few things like a pair of sunnies at 50% off. Whoohoo! I met up again with Sarah around 1:30 and we headed towards the Metro food court. I had Japanese food on my mind and was going to order an assortment of sushi but thought the Chicken Katsudon with rice would be more filling. It was huge but that didn’t stop me from finishing it all. :) We got a hold of Karen ... read more

We get to sleep in Scenic drive round Albany Back to Perth tonight. We had what seemed like a super “late” departure at 8:30 this morning. I still woke up early and just lay in bed. The hostel provided breakfast for us so it was pbj toast. Yum! Psychomom was “normal” again. Her daughter was so cute yet she’d get yelled at really harshly...even sworn at! Crazy. Anyway, the little girl was so cute. She gave me a hug and wanted to give me a kiss as well but her lips were all sticky with jam. I got her Winnie-the-Pooh to give her a kiss instead. We stopped off at a couple of scenic spots in Albany like the magnificent waves at the Gap and also the Natural Bridge. The water is so powerful and destructive ... read more
