Day 13 The weather is a bit nicer today, but there are still showers on and off! I walked to blockbuster, took the movies back and rented New Moon, since I have wanted to see it since it was in theatres. Matt and Sean are off to Surfers Paradise to look at a few SUV’s they have found. So I stayed at the house and watched my movie and cleaned us for Kristin and Joel. The boys were gone pretty much all day which was nice for me because I got to have some time for myself. Although it wasn’t the most exciting day in our books. In the morning we sat in the camp kitchen at Mount warning and a Kookaburra came over and got really close and friendly with us. We got some great shots of him and he stayed with us for a couple of hours while we ate breakfast. We left the camp around lunchtime and headed off on our trip to Brisbane along the Gold Coast. We have heard that this coast is really built up and looks a little like the coast from Malaga to Marbella. It is not far and once we hit Tweed Heads we have crossed over from New South Wales into Queensland where the remiander of our trip all the way to Cape York will be. tirsadag morgen våkner jeg opp med en utrolig urolig klump i magen. for dette var dagen jeg har grua meg til siden jeg begynte her. framføring i social enterprise. de som kjenner meg vet at jeg aldri har hatt problemer med og framføre noe som helst. men her nede er det noe helt anna. her må man faktisk ta det på engelsk.. vi har hatt 8 uker på prosjektet, noe som vil si at vi har hatt uuutrolig god tid. problemet her var bare at min gruppe besto av en heller slækk gjeng. 2 jenter som trolig har kjent hverandre hele livet, kaan og meg.. jeg er vant med at det er som regel jeg som har kontroll over hele greia, men ikke denne gang. første og siste gruppe møte var dagen før vi skulle presentere. ... read more

Amy, Bridget & I headed up to Surfers Paradise on Queensland's Gold Coast on Wed 23/Sep/09. We were flying Tiger Airlines but word was already about that dust storms around Sydney were playing havoc with all flights up & down the east coast. Our 10.45am flight left at 2.00pm, having taken on extra fuel so as to provide extra 'waiting time' or 'extra distance' if needed. We made an abortive attempt to land at Coolangatta before flying on to Brisbane. I was able to adjust our East Coast car booking, whilst on the plane at Brisbane, so we could collect it from here. Today was Father's Day in Australia, so I got up at 05:55 and waited for Dad and Sophie to get up at 06:10. When they woke up, I gave Dad his Father's Day card and he did a little treasure hunt to find his present which was some vouchers for certain things, like a BBQ and me washing his car. We then had to get ready to go to the Gold Coast for a practise run of the World Championships Triathlon Course. We were ready by 06:45 when Nicola phoned to say that she was downstairs.
