Dreamworld
Cyclone ride horror caught on film. Amy, Bridget & I headed up to
Surfers Paradise on
Queensland's Gold Coast on Wed 23/Sep/09. We were flying
Tiger Airlines but word was already about that dust storms around Sydney were playing havoc with all flights up & down the east coast. Our 10.45am flight left at 2.00pm, having taken on extra fuel so as to provide extra 'waiting time' or 'extra distance' if needed. We made an abortive attempt to land at Coolangatta before flying on to Brisbane. I was able to adjust our
East Coast car booking, whilst on the plane at Brisbane, so we could collect it from here. This was quite fortunate as
Tiger was unable to assist passengers to get back to Coolangatta. We drove our GPS guided (brought my new toy with me) hire car from Brisbane airport and finally made it to
Chevron Palms, our Surfers accommodation at about 7.00pm. Despite the travelling day being quite drawn out, we thought of ourselves as luck to make our destination at all considering the number of flights cancelled or re-directed on the day.
Our
Holiday Apartment was
Chevron Palms, a 3 storey, located on Chevron Island, right behind the Surfers Paradise beach strip. It
Dreamworld
This guy cracked on to the girls straight up! provided a 1 bedroom self contained apartment (full kitchen & laundry facilities) with heated pool, bbq & undercover parking.
There are several theme parks and various attractions to be visited here but we really only had 3 in mind -
Dreamworld, Movieworld &
Seaworld. We all had fond memories of our previous visit here back in 1994 with the only danger being they wouldn't live up to our
high level recollections. They do
