I love travelling, and I have been lucky enough to see a lot of the world when I was younger. I went on a gap year trip for three months in 2008, and also Canada in the summer of 2008. This year I have been to Lanzarote and I am currently staying in Australia for a few weeks.

On Friday, Dad got home at about 16:00 and we got all of the camping things out and packed them into bags and boxes. We packed the car up and set off down to New South Wales. We got stuck in a bit of a traffic jam so came off the highway at Nerang and got pizza for dinner. We had a ham and mushroom pizza and then we tried a dessert pizza. It was a pizza base with chocolate on it and dusted with icing sugar. It was quite nice. We got back onto the highway and drove the rest of the way to Hastings Point and the campsite. When we got there, we checkd in at reception and then set up our tents in the dark. We were on plot number 6, which was ... read more

Today was Father's Day in Australia, so I got up at 05:55 and waited for Dad and Sophie to get up at 06:10. When they woke up, I gave Dad his Father's Day card and he did a little treasure hunt to find his present which was some vouchers for certain things, like a BBQ and me washing his car. We then had to get ready to go to the Gold Coast for a practise run of the World Championships Triathlon Course. We were ready by 06:45 when Nicola phoned to say that she was downstairs. We set off - Dad and I in one car, Sophie and Nicola in another - and we got down to the Gold Coast (Southport) by 07:00. Sophie and I were ready to leave before Dad and Nicola, so we ... read more

I woke up at 08:25 but stayed in bed reading until about 08:50ish. I had a shower and got dressed, then had two pieces of toast with nutella for breakfast. At 11:20ish, Billy and I left the house to go to Devonport. We bought sandwiches and drinks from a bakery. We met Ranee at the ferry port and had to wait about 10 minutes to get the ferry across to Rangitoto Island. We found out on board that we couldn't buy tickets on the boat as we had a voucher for money off. The crew said that we would have to go all the way to Auckland City to pay for all of the tickets on the way back, but they also said that they would then pay for the ferry from Auckland City to Devonport. ... read more

I woke up at 08:45 and got up at 09:00. I had a shower and got dressed, then had a banana for breakfast whilst watching a bit of television. At 10:30, we (Ranee, Billy and I) left to go to Kelly Tarltons. We had to drive through Auckland to get to Orakei and the centre. We queued up to get in and then went straight on the penguin experience as it was feeding time. We saw the penguins being fed and also saw the king penguin chicks being fed, they were so cute! We went through the shark tunnel and saw plenty of different types of fish, sharks, rays and eels. There was a travelator that you stand on and go round the route and that made Ranee and I quite dizzy! We got out of ... read more

This morning we all woke up at 05:00 and got dressed to go to swim training. I took my books and a brunch bar and watched the swim session from 05:30 - 06:15. We got back to the unit at about 06:30 and got ready to go out for the day. Sophie had to work all day, but luckily Dad had a day off work so we decided that a day of fishing was what we needed. We dropped Sophie off at work at 08:00 and set off down the M1 towards Maroochydore. We stopped at McD's on the way and had breakfast and coffee there. We then drove to the bait shop in Ningi, although we had to go a long way round as the exit we wanted was blocked off by roadworks. We bought ... read more

Today we left home at about 08:40, drove to McDonalds and grabbed some brekkie. We ate it as we drove towards the sunshine coast along the M1. We stopped at the bait shop and bought some worms, mackerel and some new hooks before we left the mainland and headed over the bridge to the island. When we got to the island we stopped in the car park near the beach and let some air out of the tyres. Dad drove down the sand track to get to the beach and we were skidding all over the place. It was really fun. When we got down onto the beach, Dad and I swapped places and I drove all of the way to the other end of the beach where we stopped and parked up. Dad and I ... read more

This morning we had McDonalds for breakfast as when we tried to go to 'Butter' bistro for brekkie, we found out that it was closed and will not be opening again. When we had finished breakfast, we went to a place called Raby Bay Marina and had a walk around the marina and then sat on a bench and watched some people fishing off the jetty. We saw a fish eagle flying around above the marina, and when we went for a little walk, we found a cool water feature. I drove all of the way back to Brisbane, and when we got back, we had some sandwiches for lunch. We parked at Sophie's work in the city and walked across the bridge to QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) to go and see the Broadway production ... read more

So, what have I been doing since Sunday? Well, lets do this in a sensible order. Monday- Monday morning I spent sunbathing a reading a book. At about 11:50 I started walking along the boardwalk towards the Goodwill Bridge and it took me about half an hour to get to the Botanic Gardens on the other side of the river. I met Dad and John and we went for a walk through the gardens and Dad showed me where the swimming pool is. Then we dropped John back at work and Dad and I walked along the boardwalk past Eagle Street and nearly to the end where Dad turned round and went back to work and I carried on across Story Bridge. It didn't take me long to get back to the unit, and when I ... read more

Today we went out for breakfast at a friend's house. It was absolutely delicious! We spent a bit of time at their house, and then had to leave to get back to the appartment to get ready to play golf. We left the appartment and drove down the highway to the golf club near Robina. On the way we saw a VERY near miss happen. A car almost smashed into the side of another car! It was quite scary, we even had to swerve to miss it! When we got to the golf club, we met up with Frances and John, and had a quick drink. We got our golf carts and headed off out to the first hole to tee off at 12:50. I love golf carts! They are so much fun.... Present list for ... read more

Today I woke up at 6:50 this morning ( I had been asleep since 19:45 lastnight!). We had breakfast at 'Butter Bistro' just round the corner from the appartment. I had bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. It was lovely. We went straight from there to Mount Coot-tha where we went to the lookout and took some photos of the cityscape and the other views. We went from there to the bottom of the mountain to the Botanical Gardens, where we saw fish, Sacred Ibis and a lizard and lots of cacti, it was quite warm and sunny. We then went to Toowoomba shopping centre and I got my watch strap sorted so now it won't fall off my arm! Sophie went food shopping in Coles whilst Dad and I went into ... read more
