We arrived in Brisbane last night after a long flight of 22 hours. The flights were not too bad, as on the first leg to Singapore, we had three seats each, so I covered myself in my blanket, and I slept for a good few hours. Then at Singapore Airport, we slept on some sets for about 1/2 an hour, and then we went to our gate, and got on the plane quite quickly. I slept for about three hours on the second flight. We had some food, and then we watched some T.V. It took a while to get our bags, and then we had to declare certain items at customs, so that took a little longer, to open our bags and things. Today we went to Movie World, and we went on all of ... read more

Had a busy day yesterday. Got up at about 8:30... had breakfast and watched the movie "Bewitched" and then we got dressed at about 13:45, and went with Charlotte to go and pick Danielle and Chantelle up from school. We had to wait until 15:00 to pick Danielle up from tennis. When we got back, we decided which dresses we were gonna wear for our night out clubbing. It took quite a while, and a number of changes to decide which dresses we were going to wear, and then we decided on our shoes... (Mmmm.. I love shoes)! Then we washed our hair, and while Charlotte was straightening Mel's hair, I helped Chantelle with some PE homework which was all about first aid. Then Charlotte straightened my hair, and she was shocked by the thickness, and ... read more

Today has been one of the best days that I have had in South Africa... It has been so much fun, and it is still only 17:51. This morning, we spent our time at the Lion Park on the other side of Johannesburg, and it was really good. Well worth going... We went into the main park first, and we looked at lions really close up, and they are surprisingly big. We looked at the cheetahs in the enclosure next to them, and they were really well camouflaged. We then went to the giraffe feeding platform, and we bought a bag of food for R15, and then we got to feed the giraffe which was a very strange thing to do. The tongue is huge, and it wraps its whole tongue around your hand to grab ... read more

Yesterday we went into the park, and it was amazing. We got up at 4:00am and there was a huge bug ontop of the net over mine and Mel's bed, and it was sprayed with a spray to kill it,and it fell down the back of the net, and it was right by Mel's head. All of the girls were screaming because it was HUGE and DISGUSTING! We got to the park gates at 5:10am, and we went straight into the park, as the queue was only 7/8 cars long, so we got straight through and it didn't take long to get the permits sorted. As we entered the main bit of the park, we saw impala, and vervet monkeys, and zebra. The monkeys were really cute and they were playing in the middle of the ... read more

We are leaving in about an hour to go on a 4 1/2 hour car drive to the Kruger, and the house we are staying in is in Marloth. Apparently it is really hot there (Charlotte says she can't cope when she goes there)! Julia is picking the girls up from school now, and we are all gonna go in one car, and our luggage is all in the trailer. We are taking one of Danielle and Chantelle's friends from school, and she loves it at Marloth apparently. Everyone is really different. Charlotte has got brown hair now, but apart from that, she is the same. Danielle is soo tall, she is taller than me now! Hard to believe I know! She is so much more grown up, and her hair is really long. Chantelle is ... read more

Hello everybody... No more entries from Cape Town... oh well. Flight was good, only 2 hours, but we landed at 9:20 so, 20 minutes earlier than planned. Had hot chololate at the airport, and cheese sandwiches and also a chocolate chip cookie! YUM. FAT MAN on the plane. He took up his seat, and half of mel's seat. When he tried to put his table down, his stomach got in the way... Got here fine, came back to the house, and had some water, which actually tasted normal, and it was cold. Best news of the day... we are having meat tonight, for the first time in 2 weeks. And, roast potatoes... yum yum. Picked D & C up from their school, and Emily the dog came with us, still as cute as ever! Going to ... read more

Hey, Only one day left in sunny and windy Cape Town, then off to wet and sunny Jo'Burg. Started taking malaria tablets already, not fun but hey, better than getting malaria.... LOL. Been doing nothing over the last couple of days, just sunbathing, and having lie ins like sensible and normal teenagers. Sunday we went on the bus again. It was really good. Went to Kirstenbosch gardens, and had a look around there, even though it was raining. We sat on a bench for a while, and read our books. The flowers were pretty, but it would have been better if it was sunny and not England-like weather (rain)! Then we went to a place called Imazamo Yethu... It is a township near a place called Hout Bay, and we had a walking tour around it. ... read more

Been walking up a lot of steps over the last few days... We have to walk down a lot to get to the place where most things are happening (Camps Bay). We got a bus pass that allowed us to hop on and hop off where we wanted on a certain route, and we have done that for the last couple of days. First day which was Wednesday, we went to the Two Oceans Aquarium in the morning, and had a look around the African Craft Market at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Then in the afternoon, after we had had pancakes for lunch, we went up Table Mountain. It was really cool. The cable car spins 360degrees as you go up and come down, so you get to see the whole view on both of ... read more

Yesterday we got up at 5:45ish, and were picked up at 6:30am from outside the house, by a minibus, and taken to an adventure centre a bit closer to town. We picked up some other people, mostly backpackers, and headed off on the motorway out of Cape Town and towards Gansbaai and Hermanaus. We had to go all the way back into town to get another man from a hotel, and he was a creepy German guy. He made us wait like 5 minutes so that he could run back to his room to get his diving license!! He didn't need it anyway. Once we actually set off properly, it took us about 2 hours in the minibus to get to the place that we were going in the boat from. We had breakfast, cereal (YUM ... read more

Got back yesterday after walking miles and miles up a long hill, and getting burnt on our heads! (I need to buy a hat, and I still haven't got any sunglasses!) We went out for dinner last night with Hugo and Giovanni. We went down to an italian restaurant called Bravo! We were driven there in luxury, we won't settle for any old car! Only a Porsche will do for us! We were waiting for our pizzas to be brought to us, and the lights went out! ARRGGGHHHH!!! We therefore had our dinner in candlelight! It was quite nice actually. We talked about Mel's wedding, and how much fun it was afterwards, although all that I really remember from that is peoples outfits! Last night we had a bit of trouble getting into the house, as ... read more
