Leah, who we're staying with, offered to drive us up north to the Rainforest to check it out. Uh, yes! We woke up nice and early, ate some toast and left in the Saab. The drive was beautiful, the roads were winding around cliffs along the edge of the ocean, Leah admits it is her favourite road to drive. The forest was stunning, it was much like a sauna when walking through it, we were sweating a lot. The Rainforest was a first for both of us, and it was quite the experience: the trees, the plants, the sounds, mind-blowing. We found a tree that had been consumed entirely by a vine. Now, this vine was thick enough to support the whole tree once it had killed it, an enormous vine, with a dead tree caught ... read more

ENG: Once we start putting photos online, it’s hard to stop us ! Here are some images, amongst others, of the two trips we were able to take for Style magazine editorial. The Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rainforest: undoubtedly the two things you can’t afford to miss when in North Queensland. ... read more

Bin wirklich ... read more

Not to advertise Sheridan but hey, who knows, this might be worth a try! I discovered that there is a semi-luxurious hotel in Cairns that offers very affordable rates. It says it has a cozy accommodation, the setting is exceptional as it exudes tropical paradise in the heart of Cairns. Perfect for lovebirds, backpackers, families and business travelers, Quality Hotel Sheridan Plaza has truly built a reputation of making guests its number one priority, well at least that's what I've read about Sheridan accommodation which I'm going to try on our next trip to Cairns. It is said to be surrounded by exciting tourist spots and cool hang-out places that everyone can enjoy. Here’s more, there's an offer that if you book at Quality Hotel Sheridan Plaza now, you'll be able to avail its Sunny Holiday ... read more

How you going? Sorry about the delay between blogs, we haven't been able to get to a computer in the time since we've been up in Cairns. So we left off the day we were flying up to Cairns. We took the Bergs' "hot tip" and have been staying at Ellis Beach, its about 20 mins north from Cairns. Aside from a slightly dumpier kitchen, it is by far- one of the best places we've stayed in yet! We have been camping literally ON the beach, (although there is more sand INside out tent that out of it :P). The waves are quite annoying and have been keeping us up at night, since at high tide, they crash down only a few feet away from our tent. And the BIRDS, although they quite annoy me, mum, ... read more

After regaining our land legs, we made our way through Bowen, then onto Townsville where we purchased camping equipment for our trip over to Magnetic Island. Nervously we left the van parked in a side street and preyed folk would leave his old ass alone. The ferry ride across was a short one and we caught a bus down to our campsite, Bungalow Bay, where we set up our tent on a nice green patch of grass. I always love the cosiness of a tent, and we regretfully left our nest to explore the Bay. It was nice enough and we enjoyed the scenery. After a challenging nights sleep, plagued by possums, a coughing neighbour, and a bouncy airbed we were up by 8am for breakfast. Deciding to seize the day we set out on the ... read more

On Monday I went to the Rialto Tower and climbed up to the top (ok in the lift!) the view was amazing there and was a lovely way to finish my trip to Melbourne. That night I cooked dinner for Sarah, Maria, Karen and Sinead and then Sarah came hopme with four lovely glittery(!) cupcakes for me with candles on them to celebrate my upcoming birthday, we just vegged for the night and watched tv, then I'd a really restless nights sleep. Got up to say goodbye to Sarah on Tuesday morning. And then left Melbourne at 12pm and caught a flight, or rather 2 flights (with a stopover in Sydney) to Cairns where I'm at right now. When we landed at 6.30pm the pilot said the temperature outside was 24 degrees!! I got a ... read more
