Hey All, Well on Wednesday we decided to head up to the Surfers Paradise that is Bondi Beach. It's not so far from Sydney city centre and takes about 40mins to get there. It's not what I expected. Paradise is termed as an ideal or idyllic place or state. Well to me this was no paradise it looked like a British seaside resort but with sun. To be fair though I'm not a surfer so to me the place is not Ideal, however, I would spend time here if I was travelling in Aus for a longer period and at least I can say I have been plus I've bought my self some shorts which will go well on our next Hawaiian Night back home. Following the trip to the beach I head to the harbor ... read more

Lee was back at work today, so Sar, Spen and Debs head into the CBD for some serious sale shopping at Pitt Street Mall. After this exhausting episode, we head to Circular Quay to catch a ferry to Watson's Bay, a really lovely area just 15mins away. It's a lovely little fishing village, with almost Cormwall style cottages lining the small bay and beach. Yachts and fishing boats line the coast line. We ate at Doyle's - famous for freshly caught fish and seafood, and caught the last ferry back in time to meet Lee (after a hard day's graft) for drinks in the city. Had a mini pub crawl home at the : Wragg & Famish, famed to be one of Syndey's oldest hosteleries, The Union Bar (L & S play Touch Rugby for the ... read more

Well what can I say? 35 degree heat, the pungent aroma of cooked sausages and other BBQ delights filling the air and the painful burning sensation on the soles of your feet as you walked across the sand all made for a particuraly unfamiliar christmas day. Like all true Brits we started our day with a massive fry up. Purchased the day before at our local Woolworths. This in itself was a huge ordeal. We dribbled our way past the pastry and dessert counter feeling the non existent change in our pockets and watched on enviously as families and locals piled their shopping trolleys high with sticky treats, slabs of succulent meat and crunchy salad. After much deliberation we settled for economy baked beans, a bumper pack of sausages, white 'e-numbered to the limit' bread and ... read more

December 31st Bringing in the new year with abundant love and energy. Danced my heart away, hours of wild abandonment out bush with two thousand other super conscious souls. Down in history as my second best New Year’s celebration ever, next to my time in Israel. But this time surpasses most, dancing alone was enough, on and on and on… and then it only got better! January 1st Dreams do come true - even the wildest and most unconceivable! I’ve spent years where?, and now the moment has come. With hours of gutsy, squirmy, gutterly raw truths, a space was created, no, more than a space… a new universe. My humble words cannot do justice to bring to life for you the awe in which I have found myself this past 12 hours and especially this ... read more

We made it to Sydney from Hong Kong in one piece but it was the bumpiest flight we had been on so far! Its quite a shock, money-wise, when going from SE Asia to Australia, especially with Christmas and New year as everywhere in Sydney is booked out. Luckily I booked our accommodation 6 months in advance. After 10 months I finally met up with my sister Adele who's also backpacking/working over here. We went first around Sydney seeing the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and went for a jet boat trip around the harbour. This was really fast and we got drenched but it was fun. I then got to see my first platypus at the Sydney aquarium. Christmas day was spent doing the Aussie thing by going to Bondi Beach followed by a BBQ at ... read more

Sar came to pick us up from Manly, checked out Chris's batchelor pad, and then we headed to The Zinc Bar for breakfast, set on Manly beach. After this energising snack, we headed to Pittwater (Syndey's answer to the lake district, only sunny and with yachts). We drove through the lovely views and hill top houses and stopped at Palm Beach, where Home and Away is filmed. Sadly, we did not see Alf or Ailsa...but to console ourselves drove to Whale Beach for some great surf. Did some body surfing. In order to get the salt water out of our mouths, headed to the Newport Arms Hotel for a drink before heading back to Crow's Nest. The bar is a huge outdoor sports bar ( a local institution) set on the banks of one of Pittwaters ... read more

On Boxing Day Colin and I did the Coogee to Bondi walk which is quite a trip but on the way there are lots of little coves and other beahces. It was really hot and some of the beaches looked awesome, with the sea a beautiful deep tourquise. We went snorkling at the spot you can see where I'm standing on some rocks, that was well cook but the tide was quite aggressive so we didn't do it for very long as we were getting pushed around a lot. Was a really cool day but very tiring... we did a lot of walking.... read more
