This morning I woke up, had a ncie short work-out and headed out for Yum-Chai with my uncles Marks Parents. It was cool the way the restaurant was set . Basically a bunch of chinese waiters walking around with carts of food and you can pick and choose what you want. Never have to wait: Quite Enjoyable. Afterwards Mark asked is I wanted to go see some skippys (kangaroos) and so we were off. The place we ended up turned out to be more of a wildlife sanctuary. I was able to pet the kangaroos and koalas. There were the craziest animals, wallabees, dingos, unicorns, penguins. And so I was able to tick one of the first thingsw off my list, get a picture with a kangaroo. But I got much more than that. THe pictures ... read more

It was my uncleds birthday so it was perfect timing for him to take off work and show me around town. Such a beautiful city. We went on a walk around the harbour, I saw the famous opera house, we ate fish and chips overlooking the harbour bridge and then went on a boat tour around the harbour. We then went out for his monthly liquor run; $540 and 6 bottles of vodka later we were on our way back home. I pretty much conked out and was out cold for 2 hours. Upon wake-up I was told we were going out for Cheese and chocolate fondue at their friend Lukes house. THere were 8 of us there, 6 gay men, a woman, and myself. It was funny to sit around with a bunch of gay ... read more

This is amazing. Its 2 in the morning and I had my first warm shower all week, damn it feels good to be clean. I was about to jump into bed when I looked outside on the patio (yes, i have a patio right outside my room, a door from my bedroom directly onto it); I decided to go outside into the warm air wearing my pajamas. Being warm out, they dont consist of much, the point is that It was so nice to just stand outside with the warm air on me and just take a second to think. Im actually in australia. Insanity. ... read more

Mar 15 4:30 didn’t come as early as expected this morning. We got all our loot together quickly and packed up our bus. Apparently people didn’t realize Disneyland was in Anaheim and not LA which is 2 hours away and we had to leave by 5:30 in order to catch my place. I love ruining everyone’s plans, (to be honest I feel bad). I’m really just hoping my flight is at 12:30 like I thought it was. Otherwise I might be sleeping a few nights in the LA airport. I’m nervouuuuuuuuuus but pretending to be calm and collected. Here’s me wishing myself luck. AT THE AIRPORT I’m cleared through baggage check and sitting in a café beside my gate about to eat a Turkey/Havarti sandwich which looks very appetizing sitting next to me as I type. ... read more

Took a train then a bus to the Koala Park Sanctuary in West Pennant Hills. A nice little place set in forest canopy which houses a good variety of Australian wildlife, with free-roaming koalas, birds and kangaroos. Stroked a koala, fed red/grey kangaroos, took photos of echidnas, emus, cocateels, wombats, flying foxes, cassowaries and sheep! Well worth a visit if you can't get to see all the animals in the wild. Later we had wine with our South Korean roomie called Min. His first sip of wine (not popular in Korea) and he didn't much like it, though it was cheap dry white wine from a box. A discussion followed explaining the properties of wine such as sweetness or dryness, and how very different English accents can be.... read more

Hello!! Oops didn’t realise it had been quite so long since I last wrote anything!! What have we been doing, well!!! Not that much actually!! Also, I noticed that the pictures at the end of the last blog weren’t for that time so I’m going to move them and put them on this one! I’ve also had to put this onto two entries as it seems I had more to gab about than what I originally thought!!! On the night that I wrote the last blog Lyds, Phil and I went to a house party at one of the other houses owned by the same people as ours! That was really good and we met some new people as well!! The Sunday we went down to Circular Quay where we bumped into someone we had met ... read more

There has been a reason for the lack of writing in recent weeks, due to the fact that I'm hardly doing anything other than going to work and going to bed. I really do feel like I'm now living the Sydney working life now. Getting up going to the gym in the morning and then going to work until late, getting home very tired and soul-sapped after a day of trying to sell bits of very expensive plastic to people. The job is certainly not going to be a new career path I can assure you, but the much needed Ozzie dollars are begining to appear in my old dusty bank account. So as Colin and I are slaving away each day at the office wired to our head-sets we really have to take advantage of ... read more

The tenancy on our lovely flat in Coogee has now come to a sad and almost tearful end and it is time to move on to our new swanky inner city apartment in the Surrey Hills area, but of course we're not just going to walk out on Coogee without saying goodbye the best way we know how.... cocktails and a party! In fact we pretty much had a full-blown cocktail party with the rest of the crew we flew out with in the BUNAC group at their larger house which actually has a little bar already built in, fantastic! We each bought a different bottle of spirits and fruit, mint, juices etc etc and I tended the bar for our last night in Coogee making as many different cocktails as possible with the equipment I ... read more
