My last night here in Australia and I'm really going to miss it. I've seen a couple of the main sites of the country but no where near enough. I am definately coming back here, with a working holiday visa. There is something good about this country. Weirdest coincidence EVER, I'm just getting settled into my room when 3 girls about my age come in, and I introduce myself to them. One seems vaguely familiar and she asks me 'Is your name Becky SCOTT?' Turns out me and her (Lucy Johnstone) went to primary school together (the study) and she is sharing a room in one of the biggest hostel in Sydney. And to make things weirder on the same floor is another girl I went to the study with, Natalie Clough. Man its a ... read more

Hi, Its taken years to prepare for this trip, 6 wonderful weeks flying around the world. My name is Paul and my partner is Jeff. Jeff turned 40 on March 11, and we lunched with 17 great friends at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Sydney to celebrate yesterday. It was a day of fun, laughter, good food, wine and great memories. Jeff and I want to thank Jim, Greg and Linda, John and Lawrie, Robert, Grant, Greg D, Mark and Maryla, Jeffrey, Noya, Marion, John P, Allan M, Ross and Guy. We were so lucky living on the Northside, Sydney was celebrating St Patricks Day a week early, quite a few were caught up in traffic jams. Jeffrey K had enough and walked from Town Hall as did Allan. Lunch was for 1pm so we had ... read more

Hej allesammen.

Arrived in Sydney where we are staying with Helen and Stuart (ruthy's sister and her husband) who live in Clovelly which is only a couple of minutes walk away from an almost exclusive beach. The weather has so far been perfect and the hospitality is top class. We have just had Helens home baked choc/banana cake for pudding, which was scrummy. After visiting Manly island today we took a power boat tour around the harbour, which span round and soaked us through. Getting out the leather jackets tomorrow for the Harley Davidson ride over Syndey bridge, then Australia day and lots more booze. Moving to Melbourne for Neighbours tour and Big Day out festival soon. Keep you all updated. bye for now... read more

Hidee ho, so after recovering from my trek across Mordor....ops, I mean The Blue Mountains, I took a leisurely saturday with Emily to visit The Opera House and go to the top of Centre Point Tower - thank goodness there was a lift! We went on this little ride telling you about Australia (I is now educated about where I is) and then got the lift the size of a small thimble to the top. The view was tremendous! Sydney is huge and is seperated all over the place by water. Lots of yummy bridges! The we scooted on down to The Opera House (stopping for gelato joy on the way to prevent melting!). Twas a very cool building and The Harbour is beautiful. Went out in the evening to sample to beverage and dancing opportunities ... read more

Even though the saucy tart was only here for a coupla weeks, we felt it necessary to arrange an extravagant leaving do to see her off. Arranged for a cheeky night out at the Sydney Opera House to see the Lost and Found Orchestra (latest production from the creators of Stomp) followed (and preceded) by cocktails and champagne in the Opera Bar and then a night getting absolutely battered. Bonjour to that and Aujourd'hui to her.... read more

Today was the last day we'd have to explore more of Sydney so we did as much as we could. We headed back to the Botanical Gardens to see how they looked in the daytime, when they are not packed with 25,000 new years eve revellers. The views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera house were fantastic, and the gardens offered a huge variety of interesting and different types of trees - many different shapes and sizes. After looking around the Botanical Gardens we followed the path around to the harbour, passing a constant stream of joggers, to the Opera House. The Opera House is an impressive building with lots of interesting design and patterns to take in. It was also particular busy and we'd be forever walking into someones photograph. Walking back to Circular ... read more
