Sydney We left the Blue Mountains National Park towards Sydney, which was around 100kms East. We were really looking forward to visiting a city as we'd been camping for three months...which becomes hard work!! Ally and I spent a day driving around Sydneys' central sites, such as: the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Kings Cross and financial districts. We then drove to the only campsite in Sydney, where we'd spend our last night with 'The Cow'...aahhh! The next day we dropped off the few camping bits that we had purchased along the way.... ie, table, gas stove, ropes, Body Board, Maps, Camp Books, Mosquito Coils, Big Furry Duvet, Cd's, Food, Basin, Axe and washing powder....at a hostel in Kings Cross!! So the need for beaches and thrills has arrived and the last few days in Sydeny had to be carefully planned in order to fit everything in that we wished to do before we leave the place that has been our home now for 4 months. As we had all been working different hours we had all done different things usually as pairs Matt and Chris and Colin and Myself. For me the one thing that I just had to do before I left was to go upto the opera house and see it up close and personal. Colin had already been up the steps to touch the masterpiece but came along for the ride anyway. Today I woke up and felt I just had to get out of the room so i headed out in to rush hour Sydney, made a quick call home then went up to the bridge and the opera house again, hoping for some better weather as it was cloudy yesterday. strolled round the botanical gardens and spent hours photographing exotic trees and succulents, its beautiful up there. Got back to the hostel and there were a few less swedes and a lass called Sue...crazy girl from liverpool but Ive never been so glad to hear a liverpool accent! we went out for a meal and found a great cheap bar for a few beers...drinking Toohey's New...cracking stuff!!!... read more

Ja saa naaede vi Sydney i gaar og oplevede lidt af byen. Besoegte Taronga Zoo der ligger paa en skraaning med udsigt over centrum paa den anden side af bugten, meget specielt og vi fik nogle fine fotos. I dag staar turen paa Operahuset, maaske en tur til Manly hvis vejret er med os, det ser ud til mere sol i dag. Ellers har alle det fint og vi justerer planen lidt dag for dag, men vi skal nok naa til Brisbane inden flyet letter. Turen fremover gaar mod Blue Mountains og derefter op langs kysten til Brisbane. Naa blir d surfing paa oss!:D har booket aa betalt femdagers surf camp naa, sammen med Elisabeth, Kine, Signe og Ida. Starter i Sydney paa mandags morgen, som ender i Byron Bay fredag. Imellomtiden stopper vi altsaa paa diverse strender oppover mot Byron Bay, der vi skal proeve aa laere aa surfe litt uten aa drukne saa alt for mye. Med i prisen er ogsaa en egen Rip Curl surfeskjorte, det hoeres bra ut;) Aa alle maaltid og overnattinger er inkludert i prisen, men hvordan standard det er aner vi ikke saa det blir interessant aa finne ut. Gratis pizza and beer i Sydney skulle det visstnok ogsaa vaere. Gleder oss vanvittig mye til det naa!:) I gaar var jeg og Elisabeth paa shoppern..svidde av litt for mye ja..Men jeg fikk mye for pengene; et par ... read more
