Holy cow why did I get Mcdonalds last night? My stomach is feeling like it's on a complete frenzy, definitely a trip to the toilet later. Never having a maccies again, ever. That's an obvious lie but still it made me feel SO sick. To be fair I did overly stuff myself with chicken nuggets even after a LARGE mcchicken sandwich meal, I'm such a numpty. Jumped straight in the shower to freshen up, not appreciating the spider lurking in the bathroom. Susie Lewis doesn't do spiders.. no way! Thankfully Marc did the honours of flushing it down the toilet. Super Marc! Definitely sorting my laptop out today so me and Zoebird headed to the city. Took my netbook to a place called computer world.. discovered it's definitely my cable that is dead and not the ... read more

Both me and Marc had delicious lie-ins today. My eye has developed a juicy black eye and my arm feels like it's been punched from my Tetanus jab. Lazed about for a bit until realising I actually should get my ass into gear and try and get my laptop sorted. I had arranged to meet Nadia at the wake up at 4 because it was the 2nd to last day to see Michael Jacksons 'This Is It' and on Tuesdays it's half the price at the cinema.. bonus! Eventually once I was ready there didn't seem much point actually taking my laptop today because it meant carrying it around all day because we planned on going for drinks after. So me and Zoebird set off to the train station, but not before stopping by in a ... read more

Oh my god nothing felt better than waking up in MY bed.. not some bed that will be someone elses bed next week, but MINE! It felt odd also not awakening to a whole room of people talking and loud 'WAKE UP WAKE UP WAKE UP' speakrs going off at 10am or something silly. It did feel nice though.. I quite like it just being us. Somehow the thought of being in a room alone doesn't seem quite as appetising to me right now. It's nice having people around even if sometimes it is a bit like errrr give me some privacy please. But at least this time it's with people i've known years and feel comfortable with and stuff. SOOOOO because Zoebird passed out stupidly early last night, she also woke up stupidly early, which ... read more

G'Day Everyone!! Firstly, apologies for the delay in this email. I'd like to say I've been really busy seeing the country but that would be a lie. Nothing but PURE relaxation for me since you heard from me last. So it's a month tomorrow since I arrived. Still enjoying it, but time to get a job! Booking my RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) and my RCG (Responsible Conduct of Gambling) courses today, hopefully get them done this week. It'll be a couple of hundred dollars but I won't be able to work in Licensed Premises (bar, restaurant or liquor store etc) without it. The gambling thing comes from the fact that EVERY bar you go into has there own games room. Not Casino style but a bunch of puggy/fruit machines. Gambling is MASSIVE here. Not that ... read more

Hi again everyone! Not really much to say this week, the weather's been quite rubbish so I've not been doing much... Sunday 4th October So after I've written my last colossal blurb to you lot I've had a bit of lunch and am on way to watch the rugby in a pub with some of Vicky's mates (thankfully one of which is a bloke, Jon!). It was VERY welcome to have a bit of masculine banter with someone that afternoon. You may also be wondering why on earth Gary Mallett is watching Rugby?! Fact is, Sydney's "Eels" team had made the final for the first time in a buzzilion years and were up against the Melbourne "Storm"... I figured with the rivalry between the two cities being so big (think, Scotland/England, Edinburgh/Glasgow, Aboyne/Banchory!) the chat in ... read more

Hi all! So here I am in Sunny Sydney. After saying cheerio to Grandma, Pap and Auntie Edna in Wellingborough I'd hopped on a train (not much of a hop, more of a back-breaking lift due to luggage!) to St Pancras. Taxi'd it form St Pancras to Paddington, caught the Heathrow Express to Terminal 1, changed train to Terminal 4 only to find Terminal 4 is essentially a building site! Not much use considering at this point I was about 6 hours early for my flight lol. Spoke to some nice builder in a lift and he said it was ironic because should I have been travelling the next night it would have all been finished. I don't think it's Irony, just bad luck. So I eventually find myself a bar, sit for one last ... read more

After 15 days in Sydney is time to leave again. I found a job in a farm one hour and a half southern than Canberra. If it'll be nice I'll stay untill January picking fruit. Until now I felt like a tourist but I begin to see my route and I hope I'll be able to follow this trail. many thanks to Woo-Jung, Jun, Shanie and Joseph for friendship and enormous help. My mind is with who is supporting my desires and despite consequences is still with me.... read more

Newtown, Australia - January 19th - 8:00pm I woke up this morning to my cell phone going off. I wasn’t too sure who it was but soon realized it was Pam (my best friend) , calling to give me an update about her Aunt. Things seem to going ok, so it was nice to get the update and actually talk to her to make sure she was dealing with everything ok. I got the typical question from Steve “Do the toilets flush the other way down there?” haha Oh Steve, you never let me down! Hang in there Aunt Fran! I love you! I figured I should get ready and head into Newtown to drop off my application. So I slowly got ready as I wasn’t feeling the greatest. I had a slight sore throat but ... read more

It's been a while since I last blogged, and a lot has happened since the lazy days by the pool in the Hunter Valley. Upon arriving back in Sydney I quickly moved into a share house in Newtown; an inner city suburb just outside the CBD that I've heard described as bohemian, funky and alternative, with a bit of a gay scene. From experience, I would describe Newtown as a mecca for ethnic eateries, vintage clothes shops and scary looking lesbian goths, with a cool bar scene involving lots of kareoke and live music. The last month or so in Sydney has been fun, but maybe a bit too much fun what with funds dwindling and hangovers gradually getting more hardcore while some kind of alcohol addiction no doubt has been steadily forming. Highlights include: - ... read more

the first private warehouse party This time the party I had the pleasure to attend was somewhat special. Even though it was only the second best choice it was highly entertaining. I say second choice, because I wanted to go on a free breakcore beach party with a most massive line-up but it was postponed because of the weather. On Saturday evening I went to Mari and Sara's place in Newtown/Sydney and only then it was announced that the beach party was postponed. Luckily they knew another party for the night with a dubstep/D'n'B line-up so we went there instead. I had no idea what it was going to be and the funny thing was that I had the feeling that somehow I knew that block we entered. And that was no deja-vu event, because after ... read more
