Getting off the plane.. Slot Machines Everywhere...... Yes ...... In the airport terminal..... have a bit of a gamble while waiting for your plane!! So there are bright blinging lights everywhere in Las Vegas, even in the Airport. Most Airport's are out of town but the Las Vegas Airport is right near the strip. You can often see about 5 or more bright lights in a row in the sky - Planes lining up to land on the runway!! A couple of hours earlier we were at the St Louis Airport. This was the first Airport that we came across that had shoeshine stalls. It was very interesting to us and so we got a shoe shine. At first we were worried it would seem a little racist as all the shoe shiners were African American. ... read more

Trailer Trash at last 9/7/05 Hi everyone, am writing this from the comfort of my navigator’s chair (Soft leather, reclining & with extending foot rest) during our first long journey. The scenery in beautiful, the weather bright, blue and warm and no traffic jams. We are heading to Redmond, Oregon from Reno to visit a massive RV show where Graeme thinks he will obtain lots of information and support stuff and I think it will be like supermarket sweep, shopping to buy all the equipment for the RV. Currently we have 2 plates, 4 knives, fork & spoons, and a kettle. However we didn’t have any mugs so a very nice lady gave us two. It’s been none stop, I feel as if we left ages ago, so here is a quick catch up of our ... read more

Things are slowly falling into place. As of today, I have at least $600 still to raise for my travel expenses to Jamaica. I spoke with Sr. Catia yesterday, and most things are looking good. Another sister from her convent will be heading to Jamaica later this week to get things set up for Megan and I. While the sister is there she will begin the application process for my Visa. I have filled out all the forms, taken my picture, and copied my entire passport for them. I believe that I will be obtaining a VISA for religious work, instead of just travel. I think this means that I can stay in Jamaica for a longer period of time. The next few weeks will be very exciting. I will be purchasing my plane tickets, moving ... read more

We had a somewhat lazy morning and left around 11 am. We drove up to Missoula and did our laundry. Mom looked Sherry up in Arlee, up Hwy 93 and called her to leave a message. We drove up and called again from a gas station. We ended up being only 2 miles from her house. She lives way back in the woods with 40 acres and a creek running through the property. Her house was very cool. Cery rustic and right up my alley. We stayed for a few hours with her and she told the girls the story of how Gma Margaret met Judd, Sherry's dad. She said that Gma was about to have a baby (Gma Dawn) and came into Judd's doctor's office (the old Siren hospital in Wisconsin). She walked through a ... read more

I arrived in Seattle about 1 hour late as my plane was delayed getting out of SLC due to weather and "mechanical difficulties". I planned the visit to see my friend Bryan who is stationed with the Nevy in Bremerton which is accross the water from Seattle. However, at the last minute Bryan found out that his work schedule had changed and that he would have to work the overnight shift the entire time I was visiting. My plan of coming in the late evening so he could pick me up now no longer would work. I emailed my friend Ian who lives in Seattle and whom I had met through his sister, Tamara over Thanksgiving. Ian offered to pick me up from the airport and let me crash at his pad while Bryan worked and ... read more

What are twin sisters for if not to remind you that you’ve forgotten something, e.g. a homework assignment, parents’ wedding anniversary, birthday of a common sibling, etc? In this case, my sister pointed out to me yesterday that I’d forgotten to tell you what we did during our two day visit to Alexandria (as did Rusty today). For fear of retribution (mainly from my sister) in the form of a low or no-value future Christmas gift, I will provide a brief summary of our activities there. I should point out that the ‘no-value gift’, also known as the ‘no-gift habit’, was practice that allowed me to make it more comfortably through the holiday season during at least one of my college years, a fact that would not be lost in my sister’s memory… …our visit to ... read more

Chicago Well after an enjoybale 12 hour Greyhound trip from Mack Island to Chicago, I was well in the knowledge of how "Scott" from Michigan's U.P. has lived his entire life, from start to finish, including when, where (and how) he met his now wife, when (not quite where and how) they got their 2 kids, how his job as a truck driver sucks and he was en route to a new job. Also how the relationship has been on the rocks for the past 6 months...need i go on? WHY DO PEOPLE ON THE GREYHOUND INSIST ON TELLING YOU THEIR LIFE STORY WHEN YOU JUST WANT TO GO TO SLEEP!!!!! Day 1 Anyway...Chicago was amazing! Again. Arrived early Mon morn and couldnt check into the hostel so wandered around for a while...went to see Buckingham ... read more
