I’m assuming that most of the blog readers have flown, some many times but most have been thru security on more than one occasion. So we all know how very important it is to have our shoes and limited amounts of liquids checked, oh so thoroughly! I recently flew home on a 2-leg flight and was glad that I actually made it back. My meeting was over at noon and my flight home didn’t leave until 7pm so I was in no hurry at all. I got to the airport about 3 hours early and actually hoped that I could catch the earlier flight so that I could pick up some Starbucks. I had the check-in email sent to my phone so that I could use it instead of the usual check-in at a kiosk or ... read more

Temp: 18 degrees The day started with a quick breakfast followed by a 15 minute walk to The 6th Floor Museum, the building from which Lee Harvey Ozwald Assasinated President John F Kennedy. the museum was great you could easily spend many more hours than the 2 1/2 we spent there. we did the audio tur whick was fantasti, great info, good commentary and excellent pictures. Our next stop was Wild Bills, a store you could buy everything you need to become an authentic Texan cowboy, beatifulk cowboy boots, hats belt buckles & much more. I came close to buying a pair of the boots but unfortunley the designs they had availble in my size weren't to die for so i really couldn't justify getting & then having to find room in my very over sized ... read more

Wow, what a great day. Dallas wasn't a place I was particularly looking forward to, but man was it good. it was nice to have a bit of a sleep in this morning, 9.40am to coach. Once we arrived in downtown Dallas a bunch of us headed straight to the 6th floor museum. This is a museum that tells the story of JFK from the moment he ran for presidency, to when he was killed and beyond. It is set in the building that Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly fired the fatal shots. They even have the snipers nest recreated as it was on the day of the assasination. It is really interesing, however there is obviously a very official slant on things. There is only a very small section talking about different theories on who hired ... read more

So today we were heading to Dallas. There isnt really much to tell from the coach ride, we didnt have any great stops. The best thing we did on the coach today was stop at Walmart, where I managed to buy a cowboy shirt for our cowboy night tomorrow night. I also bought a novelty Darth Vader tshirt. I cant help myself. Anyway we had a bit of time once we reached Dallas, so I just chilled out a bit. For dinner we went to a restaurant/bar called Gators. They had alcoholic slurpees and Mexican food, so it was a pretty sweet deal. After we had eaten some of us had a Haunted House excursion that we were doing. We all walked there and were separated into groups. I was with Michael, Shuei, Kaitlin and Sam. ... read more

After studying abroad this summer I realized how hard it was to tell everyone what I was doing, where I was, and what I was experiencing! I had limited time to check emails, and did not always have my computer with me. I also had to type and re-type stories, which took more time then I had! This time around I want to do things a little differently! I still love getting emails from everyone, especially real mail! Its great to hear from y'all on Facebook, email and twitter! But I thought it also may be fun to document some of my more general stories on a blog, where I can let everyone know my adventures day by day! I will be studying in London for the Spring semester of 2012 at the University of Westminster. ... read more

Dallas has the misfortune of being known by most people as the place where two famous people were shot. JR Ewing, thankfully, was only a character on the TV series Dallas. President John F Kennedy, on the other hand, was tragically a real person. His assassination has long fed the conspiracy gristmill. The only place to separate the reality from the rumors, to the extent it can be, is here in Dallas. Sixth Floor Museum The Sixth Floor Museum has the most extensive information on the assassination. It’s located on (and named after) the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Deposi... read more

I spent the day in Dallas, a city most Americans associate with url=http://www.southernliving.com/healthy-living/mind-body/miss-texas-hair-volume-tips-00417000070847/big hair, flashy lifestyles, and enormous egos. Much of that impression comes from a famous TV show set in the city, and the antics of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team. In reality, the image is closer to real life than many residents would like to admit, at least in certain parts of the city. No discussion of Dallas is complete without the tale of the most famous promotional stunt in Texas history, Mark Cuban runs a Dairy Queen.
