Far out its been 10 weeks already! hasnt time gone fast! ive been looking forwards to the end of camp but now that its almost here (2 days to go) I dont wanna leave! Honestly you have a love/hate relationship with this place - every single person that I know here does - its your home and the people are your family, but being tired all the time can drag you down - but u still love it - the good times and the bad! had banquet the other night - where the whole camp gets dressed up and has a formal type dinner, and then after dinner we had the staff show - Grease! was heaps of fun! a good laugh! Oh soccer... so we had 2 soccer games this session and we lost big ... read more

Time to say goodbye Time in Europe is over Time to catch a plane. Richard had to go into work early on Friday so I set my alarm to make sure I was up in time to say my thank you’s and goodbye…would have been a bit rude to sleep in. lol The plan was to go back to sleep since my train to the airport could wait until 9:30/10. But then I decided against that idea for fear of sleeping through a second alarm…can’t take chances! So what better to do than surf the net! The past while there always seems to be email to answer or stuff to look up for future travels and of course updating my blog is always on the to-do list right there with shave my legs. Lol My sister ... read more

Today I had to say goodbye to my best friend Sandra, as she headed off to Orlando FL, to do the disney college program, and my brother Jeff as he is starting his first semester at Ithaca college. Saying bye to 2 people, that I see on a daily basis on the same day sucks. But, I guess its not goodbye, its see you later. I now have the next week to prepare for my adventure, to pack, pick up different things and spend time with my family and friends. Next week I will be flying down the the bahamas to start my once in a life time opportunty and everyday its becoming more realistic.... read more

So after a greuling 12 hour overnight, freezing cold bus ride we made it to New York City!!! The city was amazing, not everything we expected it to be but it was still a good 2 weeks we spent there. We did all the touristy things such as Staten Island ferry so we could see the statue of liberty. I think we did this on the worst possible day as it was so smoggy!!! we caught the ferry on a sunday so you wouldn't expect there to be so much smog but unfortunately there was :( We also had a look aroung ground zero, wall street and the financial district including the first governent building, New york stock exchange, St peters church which was the church accross the street from the 2 towers, it was a ... read more

New York Manhattan is a city that at first take I did not like. But after I gave it another week I found that there were many things to like and so many different sides to the city that I had to reconsider what made a good metropolis. To its credit it really does buzz off its own energy. This is a city for people with energy and ideas. Every day I have seen someone creating a new crazy new idea or product. This place is ruthless to those that try, but many persist and some have made their way. For those products that are successful, they will be succesful anywhere in the world. The streets are covered witih the brands that have survived this bear pit and they include: LG, iPod, Nike, GMC.... Most of ... read more

So I actually have a place to stay in Germany now!!! My family lives in Herzberg. It's in Lower Saxony, which is a state in the north. I haven't talked to any of them yet, but apparently I have a 15 year old sister named Isabell and a 20 year old brother named Sebastian. They are VEGETARIANS and have a cat. That is about all I know of the situation right now. Still, it is surprisingly comforting to know that there actually is a warm epicenter to all this madness that is about to pervade my life in about 2 weeks. To be completely honest, I am perfectly satisfied just knowing that there actually is a place for me in that strange land, Germany. It's a nice thought to have swimming around my head with all ... read more

Last night I did a scary thing...I resigned from Computer Associates. I have been at CA for 6 years...was only 22 when I started...and it has been the only real job I have ever known. I'm still a little in shock about it. But an opportunity came up to work for a much smaller company, with some great people who I used to work with at CA. This new position is going to be much different than what I do now. It will be a lot of travel and hard work, but I think I'm up for it. I am ready for something new and challenging! So at the same time that I am looking forward to this new phase in my life...I am also looking back at all the great experiences I had in Peru...and ... read more
