Well the summer is coming to a close. After my first week back at work with summer vacation over I journeyed out to my family's summerhouse on Long Island. Well actually, I didn’t actually get to go into my house. This was due to the previous night’s dart throwing/beer drinking down at the local and the inevitable morning after that caused me to forget the keys back in Westchester. I am beginning to sense a theme here. First it was my passport left in a Vienna hotel room, after a night out, that left me unable to get into Slovakia. Now here I was calling myself Tommy No Keys on Long Island. However, it wasn’t a total loss as my friend and I headed off to the beach. The Hamptons are really two different places. One ... read more

Jon and me went up to NYC for a 5 days to check out the big apple. It was an amazing city, nothing like i had ever seen before. We stayed in Manahattan a couple blocks from time square which turned out to be a great location, did not have to travel much to get to the sites. We went to a Yankees game while there which was good. About 3 months earlier we bought tickets to the US open that was in NYC while we were there, we had tickets to the finals. And it turned out to be the hottest ticket item in NYC that weekend when Agassi ended up in the final against Federer. That was one of the coolest parts of trip being at that event. Unfortunately Agassi came up a little ... read more

Hello everybody, I just wanted to check in from Esopus, NY. I've been here for around ten days now and have mostly been helping Br. Donald close down camp (we drained the pool yesterday) and get ready for school retreats (Roselle Catholic is here through Saturday with about 160 kids). Anyways, I hope everyone is (or will soon be) enjoying their new location and new work. take care, jonathan... read more

Hehe! The excitement is growing. Graham and I have been doing our last minute New York things before our big departure. I guess it hasn't been very real up until this point -- but we've been planning this trip for what, a year and a half now. Its been such a big part of our lives that I guess I never thought of it as this big event. But now its almost here and there are like a million things to do because we only have 5 more days in the City. We've been hanging out with our friends a lot, saying goodbye to people. WE hung out in Time Square twice this weekend, going to the ESPN Zone and the Loews Theatre. We've been going to that movie theatre for 3 years now, I can't ... read more

Well... this is my last night here in the states. I just wanted to say "see ya later" to everyone. And also I wanted to thank all my friends and family for giving me such nice send-offs... I really will miss you guys. The hommies in LA took me out for sushi... wonderful. My dad and the family had a nice bbq at the house sat. night before I left for NY the next morning. And C.Tan took me to get some soul food in Harlem... Let me say that you guys don't make it easy to leave home for 7 months. Anyways... wish me luck, stay in touch, and we'll catch up when I return in March. Sincerely, Serkan enjoy the pics.... ... read more

I met Juz down in the lobby this morning, ready for today's adventure. I'd had a good sleep, especially after all the walking we did yesterday. This morning we started the day off with a trip to Maccy D's for breakfast, before we started our walk down to Broadway. We were going to check out any of the shops along the way, before we got to our destination of Battery Park, but we'd slightly misjudged how far down we needed to actually walk, so we ended up getting a cab from around 23rd Street to Battery Park. On arrival at Battery Park, we were confronted by the three mad men, who got all dressed up in foam costumes dressed a Statues of Liberty's. It was funny to see them getting all dressed up, and then asking ... read more

The flight over wasn't too bad. It was a 7-hour flight over from London Heathrow to New York, but to be honest it actually felt a lot longer. We did land on time however, so I was happy. As I was only going to be in New York till Saturday morning, I wanted as much time as possible to go exploring. However, on arrival at JFK passport control, I was confronted with a massive queue, as people waited for their fingerprints and eye iris' photos to be taken, It wasn't good. It was hot, the air conditioning didn't seem to be working, and some people were also trying to jump the queue. After a couple of hours I eventually got through. I'd already lost two hours now of my crucial sightseeing time, and I hadn't even ... read more

"Everywhere we go, people wanna know, who we are, & where do we come from, so we tell them, we are with Lleyton, Lleyton from Australia, & if ya can't hear us, u must be bloody deaf!!" And you would have had to be deaf to have not heard us! I was checkin the net and I saw that Lleyton and the Poo where playing at the open so I donned the Australia shirt & got set. I was brushing my teeth and a fellow Aussie commented on the shirt and I told him I was hitting the tennis. He was too and might have a free ticket for me, no ticket but I got a blue beater on and some zinc stripes and I joined the aussie beater blokes cheer squad. First we cheered Lleyton ... read more
