We started the past little segment of life with a nice winter snow. Lena and Mommy and Granddad went to the powder keg festival. It was his March "Treat of the Month". It was the first year of the festival which is timed to be the same weekend as the Pond Hockey tournament. I can see it only getting better as you two get older and can enjoy it more. Who knows, at some point maybe you or Daddy will be playing in the tournament on the ice in the inner harbor! For now though, we were pleased just to go through the ice maze and tube down the exit ramp from the skyway. Hopefully next year they will build it up a bit so that you can go even faster:) We had a couple of ... read more

It is hard to believe it hasn't even been two months yet since Charlie arrived, and yet there it is. We have been so busy. Getting new routines down and meeting all kinds of new people! Work continues on the house, at this point our new deadline is the weekend after Easter when we may have people visiting who will need to sleep in rooms that at this point have no floor, no paint, no lights (installed) and no furniture. Nothing like a that for motivation! At current the stairs are scheduled for the final coat of polyurethane on Sunday and the spindles have been getting stained. The process is so intricate and thankfully Granny has the patience and has been doing a beautiful job for us all. Meanwhile Grampa and Daddy have been on a ... read more

Well my dears, it was a day of firsts! Today Lena, you got to go out to play in the snow for the first time:) And Charlie, today was the first time we let you stay home by yourself! Well, to be honest, the cats were also home to keep an eye on you....and we did take a monitor so we could hear if you threw a party while we were gone...and we parked your bouncer in the front window so we could see you from the porch...and we were just playing in the front yard...... Still. I'm sure Uncle Tom and others will cringe when they read this:) I have heard people say that you learn more and become more relaxed with each child. Frankly guys, we didn't start out that highstrung... so.... Most of ... read more

Well long time no blog. What can I say, we've been busy. And before I post on our latest adventures I figured I should cover a bit of what we were up to between Halloween and the end of the year:) We have been such a busy group here. The ongoing work on the house adds an interesting element to our lives, but hasn't stopped us from keeping on the move. For Daddy's birthday you and I snuck out to visit Grandma Roaldi and Aunt Rosie and construct about 170 Capelletti. We served them to all the Grandparents and Aunt Anne and Daddy for dinner. Daddy only let us cook up 100 of them though, he decided that the other 70 were his to enjoy later:) We had strawberry cake for dessert, much to your and ... read more

Well, in typical fashion, nothing goes as planned. The house that we figured would be at the very least empty of contractors and such by November is still in progress, although very close to being done. And the baby that was due late Jan./early Feb., then Jan. 22nd, then Jan. 18th, then scheduled as a Caeserean section on January 11th decided that January 5th was a much better day. That might have had something to do with Mommy having the 7 hour stomach flu that morning. It's possible that he thought his 'host' body was tanking and it was best to get out of town rather than go down with the ship. In any event Mommy and Daddy left for the hospital at around 11 o clock while you stayed home to play with Granddad. I ... read more

We have the 4th November now and we are in Buffalo,NY with rain the whole day and cold windy whether. It's clearly feel able that winter is coming. So we decided to have a relaxed day on our first couch. In the morning we went to the Laundry and did a little shopping too. We bought a phone so we are able to call and be called while we are traveling, since even for prepaid you need to buy once a mobil phone. The afternoon we spend with take-away-food and fortune cookies in front of the TV with one movie after an other. Now we will cook dinner together with our host and enjoy the rest of our evening... ... read more

Oh my love! It is amazing to us that you are already a year old. Someone said to me today that with children the days are long and the years are fast. I couldn't put it better myself. Some days are so long, but all of a sudden seven of them have flown by! You were PERFECT for your birthday. You took a nice nap and were such a happy lovable little girl all day long. When I say all day, I mean it. You went strong until about 9:30 at Grandma and Granddad's house. You played with Maddy and visited with Lucas a bit and generally provided entertainment to a pretty big collection of relatives and friends. Anyone who hadn't witnessed it yet was treated to your new found prowess at walking. We had a ... read more

We started our day with the american breakfast with our friend. Afterwards we visited clothes collection Planet Aid in Cleveland and one of their employees drove us to the highway. Indigo is working in Planet Aid for some years. On a small truck stop where she dropped us we got soon a ride from a lady with three small dogs to the next, bigger truck stop. There we were not very lucky. The manager kicked us off the property so we went to the entrance of the highway where a "froggy" guy picked us up. (His car was full of frog toys) He drove us some miles till West Springfield, PH. The place where he drop us was in the middle of nowhere, so the first car stopped. This was the first time for Anmare to ... read more

Up the road to Buffalo we stopped at this little Amish restaurant. I have recently read a book all about the Amish community so I was quite happy to delve into this new cuisine. In the end, I don’t think it was quite authentic. I enjoyed my grilled cheese sandwich but there was no shoofly pie as I had been hoping for. As we took several side roads through New York instead of the main highways, it took longer but was well worth it. The mountains were incredible and the foliage so different from that in Colorado—much fewer pines and tons of deep red leaves. We got up to Buffalo by mid afternoon and had time to clean up and relax for a while before our cousins got home from work. On the first evening, as ... read more
