Still catchin' the rays
Fighting the good fight against jaundice we continued to put you in the sun for a while. Well my dears, it was a day of firsts!
Today Lena, you got to go out to play in the snow for the first time😊
And Charlie, today was the first time we let you stay home by yourself! Well, to be honest, the cats were also home to keep an eye on you....and we did take a monitor so we could hear if you threw a party while we were gone...and we parked your bouncer in the front window so we could see you from the porch...and we were just playing in the front yard...... Still. I'm sure Uncle Tom and others will cringe when they read this😊
I have heard people say that you learn more and become more relaxed with each child.
Frankly guys, we didn't start out that highstrung... so....
Most of the pictures are self explanatory, however, the one of you bleeding from the head Lena? Well, if you have managed to avoid a scar on your forehead, than the picture is faked and that is ketchup. If you have a tiny scar though, this is when you got it. You were doing some fancy walking in the kitchen and tripped in such
a way that you launched yourself at the drawers and the handle of one of them punctured your head. Mommy got a bit nervous and we did get it steri-stripped. There was the standard post-incident appearance by Grandma who is called in for all things medical. By the time she got here you were happy as a clam. At this point it has healed up but is still a bit raised and starting to bruise up a bit. You are definitely a 'go big or go home' kind of girl.
Charlie, you have made the leap to cloth diapers and you look so small. They are the same size that Lena's are and you just look so different in them. Ah well, you are growing!
We had our first outing as a family that did not involve hospitals or doctor's offices when we went to Adam and Ethan's birthday party. It was pretty successful. We definitely looked like we were moving in with the amount of stuff we brought with us, but so it goes!
After a 'missing cat' incident the other day we found Mena's new hiding spot under the piano. Very tricky!
You and
daddy have a daily ritual, Lena, you eat an orange together and you LOVE it. You would eat seven of them if we let you.
Now, the story of the day! We snuggled Helena up in her snow pants and jacket, her mittens, hat and then later a second pair mittens. At the end of it all the mittens came off, the face planted itself in the snow several times and you couldn't have been happier! You walked in the snow, you walked on the sidewalk, you slid down a little hill daddy made and threw your share of snow. Your little cheeks were freezing, but we had to drag you back in the house to have a bath and warm up. Thankfully you opted to take a nap today unlike yesterday. We'll see how much longer we get our naptime...
love you!

My little Sweethearts
HI you all, the pictures are great. Can't wait to get there and see little Charlie in person. Don't worry about the head being marked. You can always wear bangs Lena. How ever did you find the cats hiding place. See you soon Love Nana
