So in true american style you ate dinner on the couch last night and then played video games. We figure it goes along with your college kid style sleep schedule, although for the record you have been on the infinitely better go to sleep at 11, wake at 7 to eat and sleep again until 10 schedule lately. This at least gives mom some time to eat and clean, a little. Also, you weren't interested in the tv screen aspect of the video game as much as the controller. You helped Daddy plenty by pushing all those pretty buttons. Just wait until you make the connection that they are making Link do all kinds of things on the screen... We have several years, thank God!... read more

So I didn't take many photos today, but I do have one from our recent trip to see our friends the McKee's. Mike went to the hockey game with Andy (helping to end Andy's streak of going to games that we lose!) and Lena and I went over to visit with Christie, Violet and baby Nora. The pic is of Lena and Nora. I thought Lena had a lot of hair, man, Nora has this fabulous beautiful thick hair:) Anywho we had a great visit that night, but lately Lena has been a cranky one, so out old schedule, which was awesome, is not so great these days. It seems like bedtime will never arrive. Consequently we haven't had real productive days:( Such is life. So I am attaching the address for our friends photo studio, ... read more

Well, your furious uprising against sleep has come to a quiet end, with a soft 'coo' rather than a final scream. I think it was probably because of Mommy's hubris in telling everyone how you sleep for the whole night through and don't get up until 9 or 10 that you even chose to try to stage a coup anyway:) For a couple of days now you weren't going to sleep at night well and waking up early, ok, waking up at 7 or so, but that is early for you! Last night, however you went to sleep in good season (11pm) and woke up this morning around 7:30 and then ate and took your standard nap, which you hadn't been doing for the past couple of days. This meant that evil mommy had to rouse ... read more

Ok, let me start by saying that this is not a photo of the event, but rather one taken earlier in the evening to show your Gr. Aunt Rosie how cute your little outfit is. On to thre ridiculousness.... So you have been eating like its going to be illegal tomorrow the past couple of days. There you sat tonight in my lap eating when slowly, as per norm, you started to doze off. When all of a sudden, you made this insane noise. You coughed and milk sjot out of your nose. Crazy. i love you, but you are crazy.... read more

So this year I am going to start actually writing this little blog with pictures for you in addition to the other things, mostly because I want everyone to be able to see what we are up to, but also because I was just really busy with a bunch of stuff in the beginning. Like you! And the house, and baptism and Christmas. We were just busy girls:) Right now you are sleeping on your daddy's chest and you are both making little sighs. When you are sleeping and you stretch, you kind of root around with your nose out like you are sniffing something out. That is your dad, he does the same thing. You ALSO arch your back stretching your arms forward and scooping them up. That's me! You are the spitting image of ... read more

Even at home I've run into problems with the picture uploader so here are a few and I'll put more effort into it later. So I know I've seriously slacked off about posting my completion so I thought I'd at least let you know I've made it home safely. My Birthday in Helen was awesome! We had Hungry & Drippy with us to add to the fun. It was a wild good time of making friends with the locals and of course pushing the limits of excess. The following morning was difficult and made for a long day of hiking slower than I had in a long time. Still worth it of course. The last week on the trail became bitterly cold on the trail. The temperature was generally below freezing during the day an dropping ... read more

Day 1 in NY Many years ago, I was about twelve, I made a very gruelingly long road trip from my home in the Denver area to the urban utopia that is New York. Where I visited was not exactly the city zone that everyone knows about, it was actually in Buffalo, one of the many overlooked cities in these United States of America. As our motor vehicular travel brought us into Erie County my mother, who originated from this region, explained to me that I was going to see the first, of many, places she used to visit as a child. We pulled into the sand coated Lake Erie parking lot and when we opened our van doors the spent pine Colorado air evacuated immediately but was soon replaced by the fresh scent of the ... read more

I spent this day exploring Buffalo, New York. Many people may think I'm nuts. Buffalo has had problems for so long the city must have nothing to see. In reality, it’s just the opposite. For history minded travelers, the city is unmissable. The opening of the Erie Canal in the 1820's made Buffalo a key stop on the transport link between the Midwest and the east coast. The city grew very rich on the resulting trade. Numerous manufactures became based in Buffalo. In the late 1800s, this city had more millionaires per capita of any city in the US. These wealthy industrialists commissioned the leading architects in the US, including Louis Sullivan, url=http://architect.architecture.sk/henry-hobson-richardson-architect/henry-hobson-richardson-architect.p... read more

Next stop was the east coast to Buffalo New York, and a three hour time difference which totally stuffed us up. Visited Niagara falls from here, where my favourite thing was definitely the Maid of the Mist cruise where we got right up close to the magnificent, awe inspiring falls. Wow!!... read more
